@oortdoug Well, it seems what happened was that he found a collection of the old man's writings, maybe a box full of things he wrote on, all tying together to be some pround observation that's still a mystery to us. When the narrator started to read this, it gripped him just as it had the old man, so much so that he disregaded everything in life for it. He never explains the observation itself, but how we would see it, how he saw it, and how he came to see it. He laughs at how it ...
... must have started as some work of fiction meant to look authentic, quoting false sources as some engrossing gimmick. But by the time he made the observation (which is still a mystery to us), whether or not the work he cited is fictitious or not no longer matters. All that matters is the observation itself, something so mind-boggling that it changes your perspective on life forever. "Your eye cannot trace the stars" because the realm of light, what we think we see, is irrelevant...
@oortdoug ... So you turn to the darkness, gazing at what evidently only you can see, the only thing that matters, the only thing that ever mattered or ever will matter. The old man saw it, and this man saw it: a glimpse past the veil of a grand illusion that seems fool us all, an illusion that he intends to dispell in the chapters to follow.
That's what I gathered from it. He just uses symbolism alot.
@MrCreepyPasta You do a GREAT job half drunk i wonder what it would be like if you where not half drunk :\ even know your probably kidding about that...
God damn I was playing with My zippo reading this then when you mentioned the zippo and the way you said it.. I actually flippin dropped it. Excellent storytelling!!!
Thanks SO much for doing an audio book! I've heard that "House of Leaves" is really well-written, and your narration skills would probably enhance the experience. Also, when you have time, could you read "Guts" by Chuck Palahniuk? It's notorious for making people faint upon hearing it.
this book is very large how are you going to do the back words and crossed out words? and the sideways ones? maby a voice modulator for the word house? and for all the red letters?
you know, i was wondering if you have ever consider doing audio books. you have a nice voice, it kinda reminds me of ( i've forgotten their names, all i remember is the books they read) the guy who read Abraham lincoln: vampire hunter, and the guy who read Ambler warning. :)
@MrCreepyPasta Oh, man. You really need to do this professionally, even if only on the side. You just brought the story to life, and the piano ambiance was a really nice touch. lol
Hahaha keep posting mr. Creepypasta i love how your storys have made me relize how little their is to fear in this world. And alot to fear in a another
Holy ace balls you insane mofo! I read this book and was loco in the coco for a week after that! Ohohohoho, I can't wait to go through it all again under the influence of your smooth, suave voice! :D
before starting this series i had thought about how Mr.CreeepyPasta could pursue a career in audiobooks. and i would buy every single one.

One eerie thing, though. If the old man was blind, then how did he manage to write all of this?
