I think the meaning of KOL's song "Closer"lies within the struggle and tension involved in a great, loving relationship gone wrong. The singer is expressing feelings of abandonment by someone; probably a girlfriend. It sucks being placed on the bottom of the totem pole. It hurts to pour all your love in and get hurt after it all because the other person won't compensate.
