Mossadegh instigated a civil war in iran. Does this make him a hero? He was arrested for treason against Iran. He was a spy for British- so of course the english will issue lots of propaganda to prop their guy up! He served them well. The oil contracts were expiring anyway and the shah was planning to nationalize the oil. So, this was not Mossdeegh idea but an idea that existed in Iran and was under discussion on how best to accomplish it.

This is all based upon lies. Mossadegh was not 'democratically' elected. He was appointed Prime Minister by the Majlis (Parliament of Iran) and immediately started on a course of instituting his marxist ideas, declaring Marshall Law, and pressing the Shah for control of the military.

Mossadegh instigated a civil war in iran. Does this make him a hero? He was arrested for treason against Iran. He was a spy for British- so of course the english will issue lots of propaganda to prop their guy up! He served them well. The oil contracts were expiring anyway and the shah was planning to nationalize the oil. So, this was not Mossdeegh idea but an idea that existed in Iran and was under discussion on how best to accomplish it.
