At that time Sachin was not viewed as a boy-genius, as a cricketer, as a human being but as a panacea to all that was wrong with India.quite simply he used to be viewed as God in His Grandest Avatar. He is as much integral to the Indian Identity as Mahatma Gandhi..if not more..

This is a great ad... really captures the nation's passion (and lunacy for that fact) for this sport and this icon in particular. The guy is pure class, pure legend and he has paid his dues to destiny. Whatever he does from now on, is bonus. I personally support him in whatever he does next, retirement or further glory...
reminds of those good old days, when the whole nation , the whole Indian teams fate was dependent on one single player..by name Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar....single handedly he has carried the burden of the whole Indian team for almost a decade..reminds me of wasim akrams comment in one interview ( simi garewal- the rendezvous) he had said then " to get the the whole Indian team out , you hav to just take one wicket..then the whole team comes down"...well, hes still the champion though!
