  • absolutely amazing voice! This song was performed excellently with loads of emotion. Fantastic :)

  • It seems that 6 people have missed the "like" button. As usual, Rob is amazing! I'm really sad though that no one has uploaded his performance of Gethsemane or anything from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Those were some of my favorite performances of his. Perfect job on this song though!! You're awesome, Rob!

  • That´s how this song should be sung....with a great and powerful chorus and a good tenor voice

  • Oh crap, I've got chills! Niice! :3

  • brings tears to my eyes truly awesome

  • WOW...you are amazing!!! Awesome job!

  • pro

  • This is definitely my favorite cover of this song that I have heard! Thanks for posting!

  • Oh my! I absolutley love this! One of my favorite songs and you preform it so beautifully. I recorded this on my phone haha you should make an mp3 version I love your voice! You need to be on Broadway and make an album, very talented! And it doesn't hurt that your very handsome! Good luck with everything (:

  • very very very good job on this song, powerful and emotional, just watch the last time you say one, it kinda got to you, it gets to me too, but fantastic job, no one could have done it batter

  • Thank you so much for your comment. I really appreciate it.

  • whoaaa...this is good. the hairs are standing at the back of my neck...but in a good way ;)

  • Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • this prblly one of the best renditions ive heard in a very long time!

    GREAT JOB!

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • cute and a great voice. wow.

  • who is the singer?

  • Rob Cygan

  • is the orchestra out of tune ??!

  • It's almost like nobody who performs this song can understand the emotional structure of it. It starts of lonely and curious. Then it lifts to a tone of celebration. But then it takes on an undertone of anger and jealousy towards the "weavers and their wives" before Quasimodo finaly explodes with elation and anticipation of the day when he'll finally be out there.

Why can't a single person get this right?

  • maybe tom hulce did, in the movie

  • fricken finally i am a 16 year old guy from a podunk town and understood this from the start. 36monkeysthatfly you are my new hero

  • @36MonkeysThatFly acting is all about interpretation. One interpretation of a song is going to be different from another, it doesn't mean his is wrong. It is left to the person performing the piece and the directors vision of it as well.

  • @36MonkeysThatFly I totally agree!!!!! I was wondering the same thing...!

  • @36MonkeysThatFly nice description : )

  • Rob You Are Amazing singer... We Miss you!

  • I come back to this video every now and then and I always think wow, great voice and cute to boot!

  • phenomanal!!!!!! lol

  • I'm supremely jealous of your talent. This is excellent. :)

  • very good:D

  • omg i would love it if they made this a musical! it would be totally amazing. The Hunchback is by far my favourite Disney movie.

  • They are going to make it on broadway.... after the little mermaid close and goes on Tour...

  • it was in germany

  • @CourtneylovesHarry good news, they made one for berlin in 1996-1999, they r bringing it to bradway 2011 or 2012

  • Words arent enough!!!! I wish i ihad your voice

  • this guy is insanely good!

  • There's a lot of passion in this performance, I can feel it, :) good job!

  • i agree

  • oh my goodness....wow

  • This makes me proud to love Disney music. I think this Disney production would be a great musical. Definitely one of their best. I think Disney should cash in on the fact that just about all of their movies would be awesome on stage. I'd pay money to go see them. And I'm sure a lot of people would. Aladin and this would probably some of the most epic ones for them.

  • F*** me, mate- outstanding!

  • ugh freakin amazing! I've seen other people sing this song, but they didn't get very into it. You sing it with as much passion as Tom. Great job :-)

  • omg so good!~!!!!

  • good job man!

  • omg that was soooo awsome!!!!!!!! he sang his heart out!!!!!

  • i love the expressions and hand gestures you make Rob. Its almost as though you were musically talking to the crowd. I think thats what a great performer does. He tells a story to the crowd with true emotion, infusing vocals and talent simultaneously. great one!

  • Speechless!!

    Seriously... speechless!

For the first time I'm speechless on youtube.

    5 stars *****

Have I already mentioned that I'm speechless?

  • i love how he's so into it his shirt sleeve starts unrolling...lol.

    LOVE IT

  • wow amazing voice ^^

    i love this!

    brii

  • Wow, he's so cute and adorable!

  • I am in love.

  • oh myy goshhhh!!!! I had to close my eyes and just imagine it! It was tooo good. I loved every minute of it! :DDD

    FIVE STARS!

  • I really love it, but can't see it anymore. It's not loading... *sob*

Could you post it again or new? That would be so nice...

  • I LOVE IT!!!! it really good...

  • I have only one thing about this vid, and it doesn't even relate to the music: originally, it was supposed to be sung by someone thought incredibly ugly, and you are incredibly HANDSOME!!!

  • Really good. But for some reason, this video always takes an age to load!!

  • Wow! Is that arrangement available commercially? I would love to do this with my chorale and symphonic band

  • HOLY SHIT! what a voice!

  • Wow!...

  • Awesome truly

but i can also sing the ones in french

    but AWESOME

  • Truly amazing... very powerful voice. Rock it!

  • woahhhh Anthony Warlow much? lol great job...

  • Wow...this guy's AMAZING! As well as the choir and quartet.

  • I agree with neverdegreenify about the last "one" and in the begining someone of the orquestra missed one note, but it was simply fantastic, amazing...I LOVED IT!!

  • the last "one" was a little over-sung, so it was a bit sharp (the A-flat), but other than that, it was amazing! well even with that, it was amazing. awesome voice, powerful, incredible! wow. A+, man. awesome job!

  • gave me goosebumps

    :)

  • His voice makes me smile.

  • Absolutely INCREDIBLE job! BEAUTIFUL voice. You're going to go places. :)

  • The orchestra wasn't bad either for a volunteer group.

  • You have an incredible voice. You should try out for Broadway or something.

  • Brought tears to my eyes. Just beautiful.

  • AHAHAH Great job.

    His mannerism are hillarious!!!

  • I love how animated his face looks when he sings certain parts of the song. . .Like when he sings ". .IF I WAS IN THEIR SKIN I'D TREASURE EVERY INSTANT OUT THERE!". And his voice is amazing. .I think this is a song that not many people can sing. .but he pulled it off very WELL!! bravo!

  • You know? i can't get over how impressive your voice is! i find myself turning this video on before i go on trips for the weekend...it's a bit corny, i know but You have a wonderful gift! thank you for this video! ^_^

  • Wow,what an amazing voice. I seriously wanted to jump in and harmonize with you at 2:24. I was like "I hope he hits the right notes at the belting parts" and you did, beautifully!! I think you lost your breath in some parts, tho, like at 2:57. I wouldn't blame you, this is a pretty tricky song! Brilliant job overall

  • Oh. My. God.

    AMAZING.

  • this is the closest thing I have ever heard to a god singing.

  • Then I suggest u go listen to Michael Crawford.

He's quite a few inches closer, no offense. =P

  • You have a splendid voice! Honestly, it's singers like you that occasionally make me wish that I were male, so that I could properly attempt to mimic such fantastic performances.

  • better than the original

  • Thank you, TikiTari. I appreciate that.

  • you're welcome. i have heard very few guys with voices like yours. you have a real gift.

  • Well, I like this one since, whenever I hear the one in the movie (or any professionally made music for that matter), I think of them as pro's with infinite abilities and stuff. And when I watch this thing with a real person in front of me, it kind of projects a clearer reality. Plus, the one in the movie vibrato's on EVERY FGGN AVAILABLE NOTE. I can't decide whether that's good or bad tho. O__O''

  • What's the name of the singer? Is he the one in the original?

  • My name is Rob Cygan. I am not the original. Tom Hulce was the voice of Quasimodo in the film.

  • Lmao, the Quasimodo has a really high voice. Listen when he sings 'if I were in their skins, I'd treasure...'

    Each 'I' sounds incredibly pitched.

  • you sound like the original though.....

    amazing

  • Well the original guy who sang this had a higher voice... And he also was softer and more mouse like lol... but erm... oh and he vibratoed EVERY note he could find... but...

Looking back on this, I don't like the arrangement (orchestra & band) much. It's far too slow and some of the parts are off pace (of course, preparation WAS just 2 days) but this song would be much more dramatic and brilliant with a faster pace.

  • Yeah, I noticed that too... but the original was still beautiful. I like this one as well.

  • I LOVE THIS!!! The singer is fine the way he is and the orchestra is really good. It is probably the speakers that make the volume loud but then again this has always been a dramatic song. The singer isn't that bad looking...

  • Wow! this is amazing Rob! I love it!

  • AWESOME CHORUS AND SINGER! This song always has such an impact on me.

  • who is this singing?

  • the orchestra is too loud, but the singer very good

  • Playing in this was SOOO much fun. This was definately one of my favorite pieces.

  • If its Disney cast members, why isn't Tom Hulce there? =(

  • This is not a Disney Show. None of the orchestra members are professional musicians. They are mostly high school students who have volunteered their time to help rasie money for charity. They learn the entire two hour show in only a few days. I think they're all very impressive.

  • Some of these kids are high schoolers?? DAMN! that's neat! they have GREAT potential to be come UNBELIEVEABLE! ^_^

  • These are highschoolers? O__O'' Impossible.

LMAO, no, but wow if that guy is a highschooler he's damm good.

  • No, I'm not in High School but most of the Orchestra and some of the chorus are.

  • the singer is pretty talented, but the orchestra is awful! i'd like to think that disney, with its billions of dollars, could find some decent string players!

  • well, for one, it's a volunteer thing. So, it's not like anybody got payed anything at all to do this. And the cello section was pimp <3

not that I'm biased or anything.

  • Is EVERYTHING live? Is this in Disneyworld/land? Quite impressive!

  • Yes, this was at Walt Disney World and everything was live. It was a benefit concert produced and performed by Disney cast members. It was not a Disney show.

  • AMAZING!
