@MRCARTER92 Yes This is the newest gen BL. Almost 8 months id say on this particular sub. But Ive had another one for over a year on the USA2000 which is putting out around 2500RMS. I had the HDC3 and it was a wrong choice. The BL is way more musical and just plain better in alot of ways. The AQ would get insanely loud but only one one specific song..

The Sq was pretty damn decent and was very loud in general w. the old BL motor. The 2010 Bl's are absolutely SICK. It really does fill the gap. It sounds awesome with anytype of music. It blows away my Aq Hdc315 that I had.

the BL really shines when you throw it in a bigger box. the 12 is meant for a 1.5 to 2.5 cubic. i have it in a 3.9 cubic ft minus the port and it hits the 20-27hz notes like fkin crazy. the trunk has half as much excursion as the sub does. check out the vid on my profile. it does no justice to the IRL flex

they are very nice subs. mine was clear and hit hard. im actually selling mine for 250. i ran a hifonics 1206d on it. so it was getting 1200 rms. theres no problems with it... if you would like more info just leave me a message and ill get with ya. :)

Fi has got a really good freq response, more for sql. I had the aq in my car, very similar to the fi, but aq's don't like low tuning, especially with the aluminum coil. Since then I switched to a pierce audio products wmd2 18, and that thing is a monster.

Since AQ's don't like low-tuned enclosures, can they go loud on lows on a like 38Hz 5cu/ft enclosure?

Well, I take back what I said, I'm gonna try an aq hdc315 on a copper coil, in a 31hz box. I'll let u know the result!!!!! It can prob take it. I would never go into the 20's with an aq. They got 3 inches of throw, no one ever puts them in low tuned enclosures, so I really can't say.

I have a 2001. Your 02 is still a 5th gen so I don't imagine the dimensions being much different. It is a bit snug to get in after I changed the box dimensions. I went 1/4 inch taller when I should have left it alone. Not awhole lot of trunk space available in the rear. However, I do have an amp rack and second battery behind the seats. If the box was slam up against the front, would be decent. I can get you pics and dimensions if you would like.
