how can Starbucks guarantee its customers that the trays that are returned to its stores daily for the charity food program were not used to wash dirty diapers and/or to catch peoples vomit as they are certainly transported in public vehicles where people carry their dogs, and these vehicles are totally outside of the control of Starbucks Hygiene. Starbucks doesn't sell coffee for $4. It's the lattes that go for that amount. The coffee itself is around $2 a cup, which is comparable to anyplace else.

The reason you are paying $2 for a coffee is because starbucks cares about the coffee you are drinking. Not only about the coffee, but the workers who grow the beans and process them too. It would be unfair to charge you less. slightsrider, actually the reason that experiment can work is because most americans actually don't know what good coffee is because they don't drink it enough. i personally drink pretty much nothing but starbucks coffee anymore considering thats all i buy for brewing at home. and nowadays when i taste folgers or any other brand of coffee brewed, it quite frankly tastes like dirt in comparison. most americans dont drink enough starbucks to actually appreciate it.
