  • thanj u i had my loom put away cause i didnyt know how to work it but with u wow i did my first hat yeeeeeeaaaa thank u verry much

  • @christinahernandez47 Thanks! Keep knitting!

  • i love your videos and you have a new subscriber !!

  • @mrsilovemuffins123 Thanks!

  • I have been wanting to try the hats but I don't know if they are itchy are the itchy?:)

  • @lipglossgirl39012 They don't seem to be for me but it might depend on what yarn you are using. Go for softer to the touch yarns and they probably wouldn't be itchy.

  • SO you dont do like a normal brim? I made that mistake and there a weird gap thing between the hat and rim of the flap. for a brim look I should just do a different stich?

  • @cjknox00 You could try a different stitch. Or maybe, make the earflap and then remove them onto a stitich holder. Then do your hat as normal, create your brim. then place the earflaps back on and knit over. I haven't done this myself but an idea I wanted to try.

  • Lucky to have a crafty mom as u ( it cut off my comment)

  • @Colorfulzebra2010 You're welcome!

  • Thank youu so much for this tutorial I just bought my loom and have been trying to figure out how to work with it and your tutorial was the best one I have found. I have a son he is one and my husband and I are expecting another and my husband wants us to all have matching hats and for us being now a family of four I wanted to make them

Rather than buy them( plus they can keep them an let their kids use them later in

Life) and you made this so easy to understand :) its awesome your daughter is

  • my ear flaps are rolling up.....how do i stop it?

  • @AngelElizabeth1 Try a garter stitch and see or add yarn to tie the hat a person's chin.

  • Every time I do this... It always falls apart at the last peg...

  • @Advocaretx What do you mean "falls apart", is it during the making of the two earflaps or when you are going completely around? I'm sorry.

  • How would you do this pattern for an adult hat using the green loom??

  • @britt1958 I haven't done it on a green loom yet but I would follow the same idea about going 4-5 pegs away from the starting peg.

  • Love the videos. They are inspiring me to take up loom knitting again! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this!!!!

  • @jnh0205 Cool! Grab a loom and start looming lol!

  • I love your videos,I introduce my sister to the loom and now she can not stop.

  • @mguerra6 LOL....Cool!

  • i love your earflap! I totaly do it for my son!!! Thanks for sharing!

  • @Triconista You're welcome!

  • do you think I could do a loom knit hat but crochet on the earflaps?

  • @cs9295 I think you could; I don't crochet that much to know for sure. But, you don't know unless you try! Good luck!!

  • What if the loom is the adult size loom?

  • @ilyniners I have the Knifty Knitter set that came in the color blue (smallest), then red, then green and then yellow. For my head I use green, however when I make them for my friend, I have to use yellow.

  • do you think you could make a video on how to make triangle ear flaps?

  • @jengunlock I haven't done triangle yet, I think GoodKnitKisses did a video about them, if you want the video quicker than I would take me to do right now. :)

  • thank you tons this is superduper helpfull you earned a subscriber! X)

  • @Supgabe72 Awww thanks!

  • Can you fit like a tassel or ribbon in the bottom of the flaps to tie under the chin?

  • @77canucme I believe you should be able to. You might need to make the earflaps not as long as I did for it to fit right with the tying.

  • that is great! how do I find you on facebook? your so helpful!

  • @cjknox00 Click the link in the information box below the video.

  • Last question. It's about the slip stitch. I wanted to know how to make the chain it creates a different color from the rest of the hat for an earflap, but get the same color chain around the edge of the hat, until I switch to the main color. Thank you for everything!

**For an example, if you have no idea what I'm talking about, google "mohawk earflap hat" and click images. Click the boy with the yellow/black hat. You'll see the edges are a different color than the rest of the hat**

  • @OuranxAddict I think I found the hat you are talking about. Not exactly sure, I'm used to just switching out the color and then going back to it. I'll look into it more.

  • @Galligsgirl Sorry this reply, is late, but thank you :D I looked into it, it's just slip stitching a different color with a crochet hook. Now, I had an idea. I was going to make a Bomber hat, but I'm not sure. Do you think it could be just making 3 flat panels (ear flaps and the front part that flips up), knit the hat, and stitch the front flap TO the hat to secure it (or button it or something)? I feel like it's just that simple, but what do you think? And thanks again!

  • @OuranxAddict Go ahead and try it! Sounds like it could work.

  • @OuranxAddict if you look up on youtube how to crochet a owl hat bobwilson tells you how to do it but just dont listen to the part about the actual owl just the hat

  • Awesome video and great tips for the extra strings and tying them into the project. Keep up the great work and posting videos :) :)

  • @sherryrpo Thanks

  • can u glue the pegs down when the pegs start coming out??

  • @GreyWolfEyes1222 You could try or turn the loom over and push down a little to secure them more.
