Many primaries are in MARCH ---- you may have to be registered months in advance to be able to vote in the primary - check out your states rules NOW.

  • there's to much money to be made off urban youth, they are excellent consumers of crap just check their closets.

  • good stuff

  • this is great

  • the talented tenth must go back to their communities and help the less fortunate i.e. giving back.

  • Cont. Infact, they typically tell their parts how they feel everyday as a means of coping with the struggle of attending schools backed by political moves of school boards and state rules of governing education which are no more affect at handing the text in book than reaching out to students on curricular. The problem of miseducation is politics which again another issue that blacks and white student/children have to widged between.

  • Cont. Politics has made another attempt and privatizing education today and has failed yet continously as the statistically flawed pressure of judge some kids and less likely to succeed. Its a long history of abuse with education because of racial makeup of our teachers and the political struggle of what should and shouldn't be taught to children of certain kind. Today Obama wants private education but where he going to get people that care about teaching. Student know when people don't care.

  • Cont. In my doctorate deseration I write on the misguided attempts of white teachers purposely using political means to distract children from learn by means of gestures and common communication in showing difference among students. This is the reason why are youth have fallen to being uneducated. Its all about politics and the push for standardized test as if the students are robots and are not capable of writing down an answer instead of picking one.

  • Cont. Miseducation is of our nations youth is quite simple so as my book is proclaiming no one really listens to children. Children are not a pun for political talking point and education is a serious matter that the United Statess government is guilty of in conspiring with use of funds to spire a campaign with small amounts that never was the problem in the first place. Our nations problem is clear educators and there mistreat of youth especially black youth in the class room.

  • Cont. Sure enough some are subject to poor behavior and act out by joining activities that good for them but the simple fact of labeling all children as inner city youth denotes them from being student with doesn't give them a chance to just be. Now, its a took and a debateable issue for use of children as a means of miseducation on the behalf of those that use them for profit. There are no institutions of private education that have solved the problem brought on by politics.

  • Ordinally, ending rants is a mindset mastered by me well. There is no such thing as a urban community nor a system for urban students. Its a sad day that the use of grants for after school programs and learning institutions have label children in urban settings as inner city thus funds are needed to prevent them from getting involved in the streets. Who made these black people heros and sheroes but are zero's for a simiple fact of targeting children as bad seed.

  • great info good brova!

  • Well, if your school is a piece of shit, with wild animals running around rebelling against teachers and causing chaos in the class room setting, you have no choice but to go the "GED" route, which is exactly what I did. My high school was the equivalent of a jungle. I could not concentrate in this environment; it was not conducive to learning.

So, I took an alternative "High School Diploma" class at a local community college, got my diploma, and now I'm in University.

  • Having said all that, there is a darker agenda in the purposeful "dumbing down" of our children (all races and economic levels) but especially urban areas as you have stated. It's up to the Individual parents/children to get what they do not want us to have, that's all we can do. IT TAKES A VILLIAGE

  • It starts with the Parents. If the Parents are not educated, it will be hard for the kids to see beyond it. For the kids who actually want to learn, I pray a Teacher see that and care enough to want to work with that student. As you have said in a roun-about way, it's a little of everything that must be evaluated to better educate our children.

  • six prisons per school?this is not an accident,we are being set up for destruction, and if we refuse to come together and stop slaying one another like savages,we will continue to treated animals in the u.s. and the world.wake up before its too late,UNITE.....salaams

  • I am an assistant principal in an "urban school district." You are on to something. Respect to you!

  • The real issue is the lack of funding for our public schools. Funding is based upon the local property tax. This creates a vicious cycle of poverty. If you are rich you will stay rich and if you are poor you will remain that way. Fuck Oprah & our politicians; we're on our own and don't let anyone sweet talk you into thinking otherwise. There is no American dream, instead we have to break the rules b/c the system is set up to make us fail. The poor make a great mass of cheap labor. Unite.

  • Well, said! The only way we can rise is to work hard (and then some).

  • Thank you! This is good information.

  • the most people who pull youth down are the parents and youth themself.all parents i know or knew seem not to care that their kids get messed up from unconditional watching tv and playing video games. your message was watched by over 500 people.the messages in the mass media are seen by tens of millions and those messages are teachers of stagnation and despair.keep on reaching the few who didn't capitulate yet. god bless you.

  • Yet, massive tv watching is a problem across all economic backgrounds. I agree, sometimes it is the parents ruining the child, but sometimes it is not.

  • Good job Beloved.

The spirit of the most high speaks to our people thru ones such as you.

    Keep on keepin on.

    We will keep watching,

    Peace!!!!

  • Of course, if it is an out but not if it is followed by higher education or improvement to the resume. Thanks. No offense taken. Same to you. It seems unfair to hide any option for personal opinions but think sharing opinions can be good.

  • This is good information everyone should consider. I only disagree with his assertion that the GED should not be considered or even given as option. I never regretted choosing that over continuing a counter productive curriculim. I learned of it by chance. A well informed decision was in my interests, so I resent the arrogance in the decision to leave me unaware of it.

  • David...I thank you for watching the video, and apologize for any offense you may have felt. I realize that many people have acquired their GED and gone on to do great things. However, as a current educator and educational consultant, the mindset of this generation as it pertains to obtaining the GED is seen as an out from school.
