The bible gives no specific date but I guess according to plant life and the fact that sheppards were tending to their sheep, Christ was probably born in the spring.
Xmas really was originally a Pagan holiday...so was decorating the tree...and so on...

@RAPJOY1 I asked him to come into my heart but I still don't believe. In John 3:16, I don't understand why God had to kill Jesus in order to save me. Why does anybody have to die? Why does killing someone else forgive MY sins? I read the bible but it says some bad things like to stone unruly children (Deuteronomy 21:18-21) and it is proslavery (Titus 2:9) and Jesus says to hate my family (Luke 14:26) and I love my family. @CorndogMaker My husband put it into perspective for me this way. Jesus Christ was present during the Creation because he is God and part of the Trinity. Genesis 1:26 "Let US make man in OUR image." KJV. And because of this Jesus knew what God (himself) was going to do and he accepted and was willing to die for us. He is God and at any time he couldve stopped it but he chose not to becuase of pure love.

@CorndogMaker As for Matthew John the Baptist is talking about the coming judgment of whether we go to Heaven or Hell. He is comparing Christians as "good wheat" and how he will harvest them (bring them up to heaven) and burn the stocks (those who deny him). This is for everyone, this judgment but the judgment is made in our lifetime. Something people need to understand is that God doesn't send us to Hell, we send ourselves. He gives us every chance to repent and desires none to perish.
@CorndogMaker God didnt want to create hell and did NOT create it for us. He created it when Satan rose up against God with 1/3 of the Angels. He created it for them but because of our sin we can go to hell with them if we deny God. There is no one sin that will send us to Hell if we accept God and ask for forgiveness except Blaspheming the Holy Spirit (giving credit to demons of that which belongs to God). Its like that jail systems, only permanent.
@Punisher4bmw That was me about 6 years ago. I suffered from major depression. It was a fear of not knowing if there was an afterlife that kept me alive in this life. That, plus not wanting to have an afterlife where I would be eternally bored.
But would it really be that hard to want to commit suicide in order to live an eternal, happy afterlife? I submit that it is perfectly reasonable to desire that as long as you are absolutely 100% positive that such an afterlife exists.
@Punisher4bmw The only way a completely devout believer can avoid simply committing suicide from this life is with a loophole by making it an unforgivable sin and making you have to earn your passage to this afterlife by living a 'good' existence in this life. It is a risk/reward system.

You are condemned to hell for sins you commit, but if you repent afterwards you will be forgiven.
You can be forgiven for any sin if you truly feel bad about it, if you murder someone out of lust or jealousy, and have no regrets you obviously won't be forgiven. If you kill someone in the heat of the moment, and are truly sorry afterwards you will be forgiven too.

KJV. And because of this Jesus knew what God (himself) was going to do and he accepted and was willing to die for us. He is comparing Christians as "good wheat" and how he will harvest them (bring them up to heaven) and burn the stocks (those who deny him). This is for everyone, this judgment but the judgment is made in our lifetime. Something people need to understand is that God doesn't send us to Hell, we send ourselves. He gives us every chance to repent and desires none to perish.

He created it for them but because of our sin we can go to hell with them if we deny God. @Punisher4bmw That was me about 6 years ago. I suffered from major depression. It was a fear of not knowing if there was an afterlife that kept me alive in this life. That, plus not wanting to have an afterlife where I would be eternally bored.
But would it really be that hard to want to commit suicide in order to live an eternal, happy afterlife? I submit that it is perfectly reasonable to desire that as long as you are absolutely 100% positive that such an afterlife exists.

@Punisher4bmw The only way a completely devout believer can avoid simply committing suicide from this life is with a loophole by making it an unforgivable sin and making you have to earn your passage to this afterlife by living a 'good' existence in this life. It is a risk/reward system.

@cloudstone123 i have to confess i had hardshit and sadness in my life alot even now have some and i had taughts myself about killing myself but then i get this taught hey wtf im i doing i dont want to leave my mother and friend who love me once i do this there is no going back dont be so stupid and idiotic and these taughts saved me and of course prayer and hope for a better life that suffering will pass and good things will come:P

@Punisher4bmw Why wouldn't you want to leave them behind? Eventually, they will join you, right? At least, that is what Christianity would lead you to believe.
Not that I am advocating suicide. Quite the contrary. What I am simply saying is that there is obvious gaps and loopholes in the religious belief systems of today, especially with Christianity. But no one is a 'true' Christian. They all adopt their own personal beliefs. It makes a church system unnecessary.

@Punisher4bmw You see, I was raised Catholic. But much like with centuries ago, I came to later learn so much more about the way things in nature work and also the history about where the bible came from as well as all the information that makes up other religions, both past and present, not to mention how much religion is proven to be divisive on society as a whole to be able to have faith in any being of that nature that has never shown itself and we could never comprehend.

It's strange that he had no choice but to sacrifice himself to himself in order to forgive us, I don't understand that need, or why that works. Too bad god isn't more powerful than Satan, otherwise he could have eliminated hell and forgiven everyone. I choose not to go to hell, but I didn't feel Gods presence like you did, even after praying for it, so I can't believe in him-I'm doomed! We build prisons but we don't lock people in a torture room forever just for not loving us :(
