Let me know if you find another PA speaker since they are much better than car stereo speakers...I have been messing with putting a amp from a CD Rowe jukebox into this box..It dose plug in but the plugs are in the wrong spots & would have to clip wire ties but was able to try it with the amp upside down but it didn't have enough gain & I need to fix the amps i have as each one has a bad channel :-(
@pinballdan The speaker is an IC Audio CH x 30-165/8 sold by "ji553r" on eBay. I contacted the seller to request selling them again. He obliged and has some for sale again. However, he has increased the price. So, I did a Google search on the model number and found another seller "dcnewb" getting about $20 shipped for a pair. Enjoy!
@pinballdan Nope - just the one. I should have bought the others while I had the chance. The speakers in the remaining one are in much better shape - not floppy and damaged/wrinkled. I'll just keep looking for efficient 8 ohm speakers in the meantime.
@pinballdan I bought them from a seller on eBay. He's not selling them at the moment, though, and I can't remember the model number. They were designed for PA use, so they were much more efficient than car speakers and they were 8 ohms so it wouldn't stress the amplifier. If he responds to my request for more speakers, I'll let you know.
Yea..Keep that other one! I just FINALLY got one of these! This model is hard to find these days & it's the best looking model they ever did.Someone painted the door & sides black on mine(YUK!) So yea someday I will have to redo it back to original as i can...Give me the model of those upgrade speakers!! great idea!
@pinballdan Both of mine were painted black. I took a paint chip sample from the one I kept - it was never blue! I'll probably paint mine as the black just looks terrible.
@Paulywint Thanks - I sold this one to a local guy. He and his wife spent a good hour listening to a bunch of selections. They were just blown away at the quality of sound and the pretty nice selection of modern and classic hits. I still have one more and will be keeping it. I wasn't really a jukebox collector before, but I think I just might have to get a few more. They're certainly cheap enough!
Wow..ok..I had one of these many years ago & the glass was the installed with the paint on the inside but I guess someone had serviced it at some point but I like the way it looks better cause the blue is more subdued that way but at any rate this model is the best looking one of the whole "R" series!! I worked for a vender when these were NEW & boy were they AWESOME looking & sounding!I'Rowe made the best 45 & CD jukes! This model seams to be the hardest to find these days..!
@pinballdan Actually, it doesn't. I have two identical units and both have the paint on the outside of the glass. Maybe you're surprised by the excellent condition of the paint? These jukes have not been torn down for restoration at any point in their lives. As I said in the description, they have been in continuous service since they were purchased new in 1982.
The blue isn't supposed to be subtle. It matches the painted metal strip just above the bass speakers...
Thanks for the info on the speakers!

Don't you still have one of the jukeboxes that has them in it to look at?

Looks like you have the front glass inside out..The blue painted part goses on the INSIDE so it can't get damaged & gives the blue a more suttle look
