Adobe After Effects Tutorial - Trapcode Particular 2 Snow (Star Wars)

My trapcode particular isn't working. When I make a new solid and puts the particular on it ... it just don't show up. It's just black... HELP ME! PLEASE!

@antonbf717 You probably aren't scrolling forward in time. Go forward a second or two and see if its there.

How do you do if I want snow stay on the floor.

Cause I change snow by rose petal, and it's desappear after some seconds.

I use texture polygon => layer rose compo => random still frame.I put Physics => bouce => floor layer to have the collision. But petal desappear.

???

I'm thinking about buying After Effects and I'm trying to learn as much about it as I can. Now this Trapcode Particular, is this something that I'll to buy in addition or is this more of a plugin? Thanks for the tutorial. I'm really getting excited about buying this program.

@TheBookVlogger Yeah unfortunately it is an add on plug in. You can buy it from red giant.  There are some built in plug-ins in after effects that are a good place to start before dishing out for trapcode particular!

what does "cc" stand for in "cc Snow"??

@Jamzeeh Really good question which I didn't know the answer to until you asked. CC stands for Cycore. There was an additional 60 effects created for adobe after effects and all of them have cc in them.

when you said you can't mask out a solid with particular on it, what I usually do is precompose that solid and then mask it out.

or better yet, duplicate the footage and mask out everything but the cloak and place that layer above the snow. That way, you can make changes to the snow settings without going into the precomp and also, if you use dof, the show will blur more naturally. Just my opinion.

@mikepark99 Good call. That would give a lot more versatility to a shot like this. The only time it would get tricky is if there was a lot of movement from the foreground object but I suppose that's the beauty of the rotobrush! Thanks for the tip!

@Jayronimo123 unfortunately it isn't cheap. It is about 400 bucks. You can download trial versions off Redgiant to test out the plug in though!
