man... dave didn't try to come up with a new "Nirvana". He founded the Foo Fighters who have their own style. And those songs such as "February stars", "Seda" or "Walking after you", the more mellow ones, those show what a broad spectrum of genres this one band can play. On an interview dave once said, that everyone can write rock songs and go out on a stage and deliver a good show. But a real musician just does not stick to one genre and one style.
