I remember having a guitar player in our Roman Catholic Church in Granite City, Illinois @ St Joseph Catholic Church and it was much like this. But only Elvis can rock a gospel song like this one and who doesn't want to watch a beautiful man praise the Lord? We could all take a lesson from this song.. #1 Elvis fan Always
This is a Roman Catholic church. If you were going to mass in the late '60s and into the '70s (as I was) "Folk Mass", as it was called, was not uncommon. Not in every parish, too be sure, and certainly not ever mass.
@surfer53 I don't know about what happens at praise and worship services in evangelical churches these days. I was just commenting about my memories as a young person in the Roman Catholic Church in the late '60s and early '70s and "Folk Mass" (as depicted in this last scene of "Change of Habit") was something I remember well. The Mass was the same as in other services; it was just the music was more contemporary and I guess you could say "youth oriented". "Hippie"? Sure, kinda. ::Peace::
this is trite and superficial nothing to do with the dignity and beauty of the Mass

@marshamc You mean that hippie stuff that you're still subjected to at praise and worship services in evangelical churches, right?
