However, in regard to the live viruses, I know that on the occasions that they are used in vaccines, they are attenuated so we can create antibodies for the disease. I have a friend that when the first wave of H1N1 virus was going around the school wanted to vaccinate all the children. The school send home forms so parents could have to choice of their kids getting the vaccine or not. She opted out because she'd heard about the damaging effects and when her kids came home the next day they told her that the school nurse had given them the H1N1 vaccine anyways. They completely disregarded her rights as a parent!
