  • look at that transition from running to jogging!0:22

  • The most obvious question here is, How effective is the machines suspension. It sounds rather harsh to me

  • @1philliph

The most obvious question here is, why would it need a suspension?

  • @molinobeer '

    Oh Dear.

  • i think treadmills and water therapy are prob the best excercise eqiupment made for horses, their safe (when properly made and put together) but thier also great for wen u cant ride one day or getting a horse back into shape after rehab or sumthin, its a shame tho that their not affordable for most ppl except racehorse trainers...

  • that is so cool!the horse is galloping and you can just reach over and pet them while thyre gallo[ping

  • thats a really good idea - do they do this for any horse, or is it just the vets that do this?

beautiful horse, by the way. I love the way s/he moves.

  • i like this better. there was another vid of a horse in a treadmil and the horse was going at full gallop with no harness o_o

    beautiful horse here btw:)

  • nnniiiiiiccccccceeeeee

  • dats good that hes wearing a harness

  • yeh, they are good. my uncle owns some racehorses and im like allowed to be groom but on volunatary. and in a race one of his horses pulled up lame so we had it on box rest. when it was supposadely sound we tryed ridiing it little bits but it went lame again. one of his friends suggested a treadmill and it toned up all his muscles and in within a month he was fit and rideable again. it really toned up his back aswell. hes not racing now hes off for a few months. but hell be back in action soon

  • that would suck if someone stepped on that thing at full speed

"ha I can do this...im the fastest ruOH SHI- *crash*"

  • ROFL

    haha

i can see that happing lmao

  • very beautiful horse he looks like he has a really good canter and gallop. looks smooth too. i can see that this horse is loved

  • yea he is loved! hes in great shape!

  • it starts off as a gallop and to a canter to a trot

  • Imagine how fun that would be to ride a horse while they were on a treadmill!!! soooo fun!!!!

  • I would love to use a horsey treadmill some day. :) Seems like it would be wonderful to have around for those days in the winter when the weather is too bad to exercise outside.

Of course, I'm biased. I use a treadmill myself every day, as does my dog. It sounds funny, but the levels that you can SAFELY condition an animal too while on the treadmill are wonderful!

  • the harness around her back iss attached to the treadmills, if she was to get left behing, stumble or slow down before the machine, it wouold shut down so she wouldn't get her hind legs caught or fall.

  • It looks like shes havi fun!

  • Yeah it may look silly at first, but horse treadmills really are great. It's fun just to watch that horse run. Oh one more thing, stop by my profile and view some of my equine videos. Especially look at the one on Don't Skip Zip. He's a congress winning quarter horse and a leading equistat sire.

  • I love how it is all color-coated. :)

That is soooo sweet how she is petting her and encouraging her. Pretty horse too.

  • what would the harness do if he slipped back?

  • the line attatched to the harness is there so that if the horse stumbled or fell it would be pulled and the treadmill would stop.

  • so cute

i love how the girl is petting him while he's going

he obviously is having fun and loves the encouragment

  • Amazing! Gorgeous TB, too! :)

  • even horses go to the gym lol

  • i think that the treadmill is really cool and my stables has five of them we use all the time in the winter to work our horses and we can adjust it to up hill or down hill. its reall kool and is good for the legs.

  • oh and it was going like faster than this and it would like stumble :( the horsie was missing like half his lip cause he ran through a plexi glass window or somthing so they donated him to the vet school ( the one i saw at the u of m i talked about in my comment below )

  • omgsh i saw one of thouse at the grand opening of the leatherdale equine center on the st.paul campus at the univesty of minnesota and

they didnt have like anything if the horse fell

    what if it falls?

  • peapole wtf there vets i think they know more then your little whiney ass stfu and quit bitching

  • horsegeek123: It's for rehabilitation of injured horses in a safe monitored environment. Get over yourself and your OMGILUVHORSESTEHMOST attitude for a sec, please.

  • That's pretty impressive....I have to say, if I ever tried that with any of the horses I work with....er....not pretty.....

  • that is really stupid! can't u go and exersice the horse? its not that hard! and plus, what would happen if he fell, people treat animals like there some kind of toy without feeling, u should think again!

  • how about his, since you think you know everything they use that treadmill for rehabilitaion. That means if the horse had a hurt leg they would fix it and see if the horse was running funny. If it is then they go back and fix it once again. So don't say what you don't understand!!!! ok

  • Well they put horses on tredmill's for a stress test.

    Or

They can use it if a horse is learning to trot, canter, and gallop.

Also it is used for rehabilitation and stretching race horses legs if the rider cant ride them for a while

  • She does have that harness, I don't think she's in danger. Plus she is surrounded by qualified people who know what they are doing. ;) She's fine.

  • I'm curious.. What happens if the horse falls or can't keep up.. Is there a possibility of a serious injury?

  • thefreakydirector - this treadmill run is therapy for racehorses who have injured themselves. it provides a solid surface for them to strengthen themselves properly. its extremely safe and well supervised, whereas if he was just let out in a paddock things could go horribly wrong.

  • i think its sad...

  • ive been in that room. =]

  • HAhahahahhahah! This is immense.

This horse would inspire many a workforce!

  • cool!

  • loool
