  • Id like to get one of these. I saw one at a gun show one day, and it was like the perfect size for me! Shame I let it get away... you don't come across Carcanos in eastern NC that much

  • BoLT ACTİON MECHANİSM İS A BİG PROBLEM İN THESE RİFLES..

AND JFK WAS KİLLED WİTH MAUSER...NOT CARCANO..

CARCANO İS VERY VERY BAD RİFLE FOR REMOVAL TARGETS AND THAT ASSASSİNATİON..

  • @SUSSTURUCU Nope. It was a Carcano, not a Mauser.

  • i have a plan to get as many WWII era bolt action rifles as i can, i already own a Kar 98 and a Mosin Nagant, and i know someone who has a Springfield, but all i need is an Arisaka, Lee Enfield, MAS 36, and a Carcano, anyone tell me where i might be able to buy the last two?

  • @JTelli786 I would keep an eye open for them on Gunbroker.

  • Sorry should clarified 4'x4'

  • I bought one of these ONCE when I had my gunshop. About the only thing I have good to say about these carbines is that it hung together. Since I don't reload, I used (I'm pretty sure -it's been 20 years ago) American Eagle ammo which was all I could get at the time. I could get 3 rounds out of a 20 rnd box on a 4x4 cardboard target @ 150 rds. I paid 60 bucks for it when I got it and after that fiasco I traded it off for some surplus ammo cans. Never owned one since. And won't.

  • Did you shoot Kennedy?

  • Careful with milsurp ammo for the Carcano, 6.5 or 7.35. The rounds are corrosive, and you need to clean your weapon accordingly. And, as soon as is possible. I do a cleaning at the range with windex, then REALLY get after it once I get home.

  • @Slickdapj Same with any milsurp ammo, I think that's about THE ONLY negative of owning/shooting these otherwise wonderful and extremely fun weapons!

  • god damn just think of how a lefty shooter would deal with the carcano??

  • @PADSCALE I do just fine with my m91/30 as a lefty!!!

  • actuily in my exsperience they are very well made rifles and are fairly acurite even with bullets of the wrong diamiter

  • the italians used this rifle for over 70 years, when other better designs were avalible. That to me is a vote of confidence that it is a good weapon, despite its reputation.

  • Got a nice report to it.

  • I have a different version of the carcano, and I can't figure out how the sight works. Any tips?

  • I just got one, anything I should know about?

  • @Warbirdguy1 Its from Italy :)

  • @Gungeek I think I got trolled....lol

  • @Warbirdguy1 lol

  • @Warbirdguy1 the bolt action is ass

  • @Warbirdguy1 was in service from 1891 to 1981 in the italian military takes 6.5x55mm. rounds and is most notoriously known as being LHO's rifle but truthfully dont blame the rifle also that the japanese type 1 WWII rifle is actually a Carcano

  • any one know where to find the ammo clips for these guns ? I've been checking the internet, and called some gun shops, and zilch.

  • im thinking of buying a WWII rifle but i dont know if i should go for a k98k or a carcano or mosin nagant

anyway thank you for your uploads keep it up

  • 2.5 seconds between shots!!! Nice! I would like to see the target after that. Certainly Proves LHO could have unloaded 3 in 5 secs.

  • accuracy poor? but still precise?

  • TS or Truppi speciali was actually a special forces rifle. The Engineer/cavalerie models where the M1891 Moschetto cavalria, M1891/24 carbine and model 38 rifles.

  • Hi - could you tell me where to get ammo for this?

  • @megagmandan I just bought a 1940 Carcano for $65.00 at a gun show, all the numbers match, and I found ammo at a web site called ammotogo.com for $ 66.00 for 100 rounds, it's the cheapest I found . I bought a box of 20 shells at the gun show for $25.00, at ammotogo.com the same box , same brand 139 grain was only $13.?? a box. What year is your gun ? Take care.

  • Hey, it was good enough for President Kennedy!

  • hey i found one in my grandfathers collection and i was wondering is it worth restoring cause its banged up but i hear alot of good things about it

  • @chklitttle, i've seen plenty of Australians, Brittish and Canadians working the bolts just like this. There is no reason you need to have a fitt on youtube about something so insignificant.

  • is that a lion in the top corner in 2:45

  • Cavalry not calvary ! Americans have the worst bolt handling etiquette i have ever seen, use your forefinger and thumb to operate the bolt not the palm of your bloody hand for christsake

  • nice bolt work, they can be kind of sticky

  • how hard would it be to come by one of these and how much would one usually coast?

  • have you worked up any .268 rounds yet?

  • @ajb4266 No and I likely won't. They are only available from one manufacturer and I don't like having to rely on them. I have some other projects planned for Carcanos in general.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 hey is the carcano a good rifle cause there is one in my pawpas gun cabinet that idk if its worth using or not i have some old norma ammo for it but i see the ammo is expensive as hell

  • @Iraqveteran8888 lol :)

  • @Iraqveteran8888 My gosh the internet is full of idiots. Just don'ìt bother him.

  • thats a beautiful rifle, im looking into getting one, good bush rifle

  • Do you have to remove the clip afterwards? Never seen this system before.

  • Learn how to cycle a bolt action you retards.

  • @whatever890327897895 haha they cycle like they're shucking corn.

  • @whatever890327897895 yeah man, hes actully really good with the bolt action there, quick smooth movement with a old milsurp rifle. its all about practical

  • @SKSowner1 No. His movement is awful. There is nothing fluid about it. I'm a U.S. Army sniper. He's doing everything wrong.

  • @whatever890327897895 Are you shitting me? This is extremely fast!

  • @whatever890327897895 Sniper now a days = Some kid playing COD in his Mom's basement...lol. Yeah I rack the bolt a little hard, but trust me, I can get rounds where they need to be in a hurry out of a bolt gun.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 U.S. Army sniper for 12 years. Combat veteran. When it comes to bolt action, fast is sloppy, slow is steady, steady is smooth, and smooth is fast. You cycle the bolt like you're trying to win some kind of race. Meanwhile your action is sloppy and you're losing your sight picture mean you'll have to readjust to large degree between each round. By cycling slightly and correctly you can keep the same sight picture and deliver a tighter shot grouping quicker. Fact

  • @whatever89032789786 I agree to an extent, but also, this isn't a slicked up Remington 700 either. You have to work these guns like you have a pair. Of course I wouldn't work an M24 like this....

  • @whatever89032789786 No, you aren't.

  • Oswald was not a 'Marine sniper' I'm not even sure the USMC was doing sniper training AT ALL when he was in. Oswald was a radar operator and managed to shoot himself in the elbow with an unauthorized pistol. Further more, if he was an expert marksman he would have taken the much easier shot as the motorcade was rolling towards the depository on Main. I don't know who shot JFK. It COULD have been LHO, but I highly doubt it. There are just too many things that need to happen for that theory.

  • makes you wonder how jfk wass jilled with such poor accuracy

  • @pyrocharlie5 Actually, this gun is fairly accurate. The issue is the ammo (like he said in the vid). Secondly, Oswald was a marine sniper and would have had practiced before hand. I saw a video of a man shooting one of these and he did some speed shooting and got a 4 inch group at the same distance as Oswald was from the motorcade.

  • I waiting on the Crancano 8x57 test.. .this is pretty boring but, the deck is stacked against you. You are correct, the Eyetallyons where all expert handloaders. LOL..

  • tahts some fast bolt work. when your shooting at a deer you bolt perty fast to (or JFK lol) but you dont notice it

  • this thing looks pretty short, what is the barrel length?

  • Um sorry but kennedys head exploded via a MOSIN NAGANT....not that thing.

  • @TechnicaIlyInsane sorry, but you're wrong, Oswald did use the Carcano rifle, not a mosin nagant. The bullet they recovered from the car was a 6.5x52mm bullet. Also, they found Oswald with a Carcano rifle on the 6th floor of the book depository building near Dealey Plaza. There's your history lesson for the day, want a cookie?

  • @TechnicaIlyInsane Sorry to tell you, but you are mistaken.

  • @TechnicaIlyInsane Were did you here that?

  • Just got a carcano dated 1939 from a garage sale. it appears to be in great shape save for a few rust spots. mine is chambered in the 7.35x51mm though. Haven't shot it yet, curious if you have any experience with that caliber? I read that its very similar to .303 brit.

  • @malro67 how is it like the .303?

  • @Gungeek i read that the tip of the bullet is filled with aluminum just like the .303 british. It is supposed to cause a tumbling effect when the bullet makes contact with soft tissue.

  • @malro67 Yeah thats right.

  • thats the same rifle that killed kenedy.... O.O

  • @motlencore89

    Oswald used a Carcano.

  • thats the same rifle that killed kenedy.... O.O

  • i watched this and a add came up the 50 year since kenedys presidency how ironic.

  • @cheesepwnage It's the tags

  • I think you can expect better accuracy by controling (holding onto) the fore end, and stop jerking the trigger (hard to tell, but it looks like it). Not trying to be a wise-guy, just my observations for what they're worth. And my own experience from shooting groups.

Very nice rifle btw! Wouldn't mind having one of those :O)

  • @exabitster It's a two stage trigger. When firing rapidly, the take up is sudden, but the break is clean and straight back. All of military rifles group nicely...this rifle needs .268" projectiles as stated in the video.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Hornady makes a nice .268 bullet with the rounded nose and a soft tip. I think your best bet would be to slug this barrel with a lead weight and get a caliper to measure the diameter from opposite land - land, groove - groove, and land - groove to get an idea what the best bullet is for you. Then you can creep up on the powder load. Prvi makes good brass, even if the factory load is not the greatest. The brass reloads nice. I have several Carcano TS models.

  • The gun that supposedly killed JFK.

  • @hex304 The rifle that Oswald used was a finely tuned sniper version of this infantry weapon .

  • @bigdubbatoo LMAO

  • Wasn't JFK supposedly killed with a Carcano?

  • Cast doubt on the "Single Bullet Theory" doesn't it?

  • it loads 6 rounds, right?

  • The C.I.A. killed Kennedy, Oswald was just a patsy.

  • @majorporpoise And we never actually went to the moon either huh?

  • @bigdubbatoo The Military Industrial Complex, along with the C.I.A. killed Kennedy. They were upset that during the Bay of Pigs & the Missile Crises Kennedy wouldn't declare war on Cuba. Kennedy was also going to pull the troops out of Vietnam, which would end up in the Military Industrial Complex losing money in a long, drawn out war. After they killed Kennedy, they pulled off the phony Gulf of Tonkin incident, which led the U.S. into a long, drawn out war. 9/11 was just a repeat of history.

  • @majorporpoise 110% BULLSHIT!!

  • @bigdubbatoo Sorry to see you're just another sheep, blind to the truth that your beloved leaders are really the ones fucking you royally.

The real enemy is corporate America & Halliburton, not some crazy rag heads running around in the mountains of Afghanistan.

  • Always enjoy your videos. Nice to see you testing out the rifles I've been collecting. Looking forward to seeing the results with proper diameter bullets. (I need to start reloading myself.)

  • How much could one get for a Carcano of any make/model (cheapest)?

  • how's the crown? does this one have progressive rifling?

  • im looking at some 7.62X54r 1975 russian surplus ammo is that good ammo? its like 230$ for 440 and 370$ for 880 rounds is that a good deal?

  • @ablemancanada No, you can get that 440 case for around under $100. Go on CheaperThanDirt(.)com.

  • @ablemancanada Oh and as far as quality goes, it's decent. You just have to definitely make sure you clean your rifle after each use, because Russian surplus ammo is corrosive.

  • @ablemancanada That is wayyyy too much. J&G Sales has 440 rounds of surplus for $85.

  • @spacemanspiff2012 im in canada.... im sure gungeek can relate to the prices of guns and ammo in canada but hopefully me and my dad will be starting to reload soon

  • Isn't this the type of weapon used in the Kennedy assination?????

  • That action don't like you guys to much. Is that just hoe they run? What do these go for?

  • what a beautifull sound..a good thump, reminds me of an m44 sound

  • I've got four Carcano carbines....all slightly different models. The very first mil surp I ever acquired was one just like you were demonstrating, the M38 fixed sight.

I traded a kid something for it when I was 14 years old. I'm now 70!

  • I love the sound of the report immediately followed by the echo. The camera seemed to be in different positions so it was not the camera placement. I dont recall hearing that kind of sound for the gunfire on your other videos. Very cool. Like something you would hear in a movie.

  • what is the long version of this rifle called, the non carbine variant?

  • @mjolnirv17777777 M91 and there is a M91/41 rifle also.

  • are the sights fixed?

  • @BigSean1992 Yes

  • nice .. you should do a assianation gun video... seriously not jokeing for instance start back in hte civil war days and work to us.. thanks man great video

  • Not a mad minute, but cool.

  • Chad looks Jason Borne there at 3:00

  • neat i have never seen one of those

  • that rifle would look really nice with the reciever tapped and to have a scope put on it

  • I have a question. Once you shoot the five rounds, does the clip shoot out by itself, or do you have to manually remove it?

  • @LBW1230 I believe that it drops out the bottom when you chamber the last round.

  • Good video mate, an idea for future works; if you have two cameras have one on the shooter and have the other on the target edit in both videos side by side :)

  • When I was in the Marines we uset to joke, The Carcano was "never fired and only dropped once...." LOL

  • @HallPassExpired you can tell that about the French MAS.. not about Italian rifles.

  • blow that up :D

  • Is the screw in the bayonet lug original?

  • lol all tjis jfk stuff pops up next to the vid

  • @camerl2009 It sure does. I think he must have had the proper .268" bullets, though.

  • @evilassaultweapon lol ya must have

  • how are the locking lugs positioned? is it similar to a mauser action or is it compleatly different?

  • @Mauser2012 Yep on the sides.

  • Who's that FBI type in the sun glasses?

  • : )

  • I love the sound of this one.

  • the 6.5x55 was a Norwegian Sweeden joint operation!

  • @halla369 and?

  • @Gungeek just saying it to get some eduation into the people

  • Was this the type of gun that killed JFK?

  • @funus0888 similar but not the same

  • how is the barrel twist on this gun...tight or loose?

  • @myfunkychannel This one does not have gain twist if that's what you're asking.

  • @myfunkychannel The twist of the barrel has nothing to do with the bore being tight or loose.

  • @GunGuru727 i dont mean it in a literal term!!!

  • My pops has a carcano and recently I bought him some private partisan so he could finally shoot the thing after ten years of having it. The accuracy was horrible. I plan to make a batch of hand loads for it like you are doing. Thanks for the video. Helpful.

  • It never ceases to amaze me how cheap old bolt actions go for! As an airsofter, and unfortunately not a 'real' shooter due to UK law, I'd have to pay $700+ for a decent replica!

  • @ApurtureSci its terrible being a subject of government, here in the states its a constant battle to make sure we stay citizens, not subjects

  • @DaytonaRoadster Very true, I would feel far more secure in my home knowing I have a firearm to defend myself. I can't rely on our police force at all. Last month a neighbour of mine had her house broken into by a man with a knife. She ran out the back door and called the police. 42 minutes it took for them to arrive, and by then he was gone. Absolutely pathetic.

  • Now thats and Italian rifle right?

  • @HHASvault Yes its Italian.

  • Those were some sweet bolt-action skills you were using!!

  • The sigts aren't adjustable?

  • Will you be able to reuse that brass, or did the oversized bore cause the case necks to split?

  • @Fire4EffectActual The bore on the rifle is .268"

That has nothing to do with the chamber size at all. The brass actually doesn't stretch much at all, so it has a reasonably tight chamber and tight headspace. I think this gun was carried a lot but shot very little.

  • I have have good luck with the Hornady .268" bullets in my Carcano rifles.

  • @Gungeek Yeah, I'm hoping to improve on the accuracy considerably with the .268s. I like the long bearing surface of that bullet also. It copies the original military projectiles quite well. I am talking about the Hornady .268" but I plan on getting a few bullets molds made eventually too.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 My 1917 M91 rifle really liked cast bullets.

  • I was going to right a comment but you said it at 0:45 oh and visit my channe if you want to whatch mosin nagant videos

  • I was going to right a comment but you said it at 0:45

  • man you shot the hell out of that thing lol. Did you get a new camera? Because the rifle sounds bad ass.

  • how much do those guns go for? roughly.

    thanks,

  • @flytyer232 Around 150-250 depending on condition. Sporters are around 100 bucks if its a decent one.

  • That rifle sounds badass when its shot!

  • shit, i'd love to have a bolt action sniper rifle

  • I know that it's not the same model as the one that Oswald used, but even with hand loads I don't see how he could have hit Kennedy 2 for 2 in something like 3 seconds, even with a scope.

  • I wonder what the kick from the variants chambered in 7.92x57 is like.

  • Its definitely a nice-sounding rifle.

  • Is that the same gun used by Lee Harvey Oswald to shoot Kennedy?

  • @z3160200 No...LHO used an M38 with a scope....this rifle is actually shorter than the rifle LHO used.
