  • very strong, sensei tanaka, oss

  • Shame, how he hit from upside to the last. That's not Master-like.

  • I like how some people ALWAYS talk about MMA when they see a video about martial arts. That's one of the most retarded thing you can find on the internet.

  • also notice that fedor emalinenko, who is considered the best of our time, is always calm and composed and noone understands that, well my theory is that hes knows a bit about this chi force and thats why hes the best... but you see this sensei is got his spiritual side down to a T!

  • i very much doubt that this guy would not make it against an mma figher, hes got chi force, this sort of shit is beyond what mma fighters even know about, this isi shaolin monk type shit. The thing is when you are this good your to humble to even prove the others wrong, so we probably will never know....

  • shotokan is shit

  • @acerwk Shotokan is good, but some teachers have let it disolve to "shit"

  • BIG EGO. This is Tanaka masahiko.

  • tanaka knows karate. maybe he whould be beter if he started learning MMA

  • @JosiahWarren he would be better if he would start to learn MMA...omg how stupid you are!!!! bring mma fighters to test their strenght on any kind of tameshiwari!(breaking hard objects)!! they would broke their hands, and they would broke less than japanesse and especially okinawans!! mma, kickboxers will never understand some things.....those who are learning real MA of okinawan karate knows that art goes before raw power (mma, kicbox....)..mma is just a sport, there is nothing martial in that

  • @TheFudokan Boards dont hit back!shotokan is waste of time.take a look the syllabus.not one drill against low kicks, hook punches and takedowns.only aginst oi tsuki.nobody will attack you with oi tsuki so to train drills against only that is stupid.shotokan is shit every mma fighter can easily kick tanaka ass in few seconds.what he will do?he will attack with oi tsuki and then he will waits for the oponent to counter with gyaku tsuki and freeze?lol..what a crap!

  • @acerwk it can be seen that you are not karateka..tameshiwari is the main discipline in okinawan karate....tameshiwari is test of punching power..bcs you dont know what tameshiwari is, it is breaking hard objects...like blocks (any kind), tiles , boards and so on..you tyu to break some fat boards and you will break your hand.dont talk about something you dont even know!!! I can test power of my kick with any kind of kick on blocks(gjaky tsuki, mae geri, kakato geri, mawashi geri..and so on

  • @TheFudokan Boards dont hit back...

  • @acerwk go hit some and break your hand!!! OSU! go on okinawa and u will see what TE is!!!

  • @TheFudokan Okinawa Te is tottaly different than gay shotokan.

  • @acerwk yes it is....now shotokan is a shit....okinawa karate is real life karate-do....when funakoshi made shotokan....he was teaching just basics..he rejected all what is dangerous from okinawan karate.he had just a few students which he taughted them real okinawan karate..but all others in shotokan were taught just basic of okinawan karate....but still shotokan WAS martial art.....now it is just bouncing game.like WKF- just jumping and doing nothing...it is sad how traditional karate is dying

  • @acerwk I forgot something to say.....one man from okinawa told me that karate in japan is not popular any more bcs not it is just sport..I am not talking just for shotokan.....and 1 more thing....you said tameshiwari is stupid.....and you like okinawan TE....you should know that the main discipline in okinawan TE is Tameshiwari..breaking hard objects(blocks, baseball bat..)....if u want to test your strenght and power tameshiwari is the best....I dont know why are u against tameshiwari???

  • @TheFudokan no no Im not against tameshiwari.I just say we must not focus only on break boards but how to apply in real life attacks and not only against oi tsuki/gyaku tsuki just like shotokan do.

  • @acerwk I agree with you..but we dont do tameshiwari every day..some karatekas do it once, some twice in a month....there is no limit.okinawan katas have real deadly bunkai......japanesse bunkai is just block-kick, block-kick and so on and it is un real...funakoshi rejected every dangerous from okinawan karate and made japanesse karate....many karatekas dont understand meaning of kata in karate..kata is combination of very deadly technigues and kyusho(vital) spots on body..okinawan TE is real MA

  • @TheFudokan Yes you are right...!!!

Isto acabou.

  • Seducing physical dexterity, sheer excellence of technique and a world known name mesmerize the consumer and imply knowledge of karate. The study of karate history, it’s actual required syllabus as a martial art, past and current training on Okinawa, the origin of karate, tell quite another story. If you want to know of true karate, you need to investigate for yourself.

  • who would dare and doubt JKA masters!!!!???? if u doubt any body that means you can do better!

  • Funny as hell! When it's all over they're looking at one another like, "What??? ... What???". HAHAHAH!!!

I bet Tanaka trained them by just randomly attacking them out of nowhere at anytime! That's why they never take their eyes off of him! LOL! Their like, "You gotta watch this mofo!!!".

  • @osensei2987 He is one of the Great Masters, I trained under him a couple of times. Quite Rigorous! If you think he has poor technique, watch some other video's of him. Like: Masahiko Tanaka, JKA Gasshuku_2 He is in his late 60's there, OR: Masahiko Tanaka sensei favorite technik -Then tell me his technique and stance is weak. Or: Jiyu Kumite by Tanaka sensesi 8th dan more about karate -When he competed he was exemplary. He is like a man from another era.

  • @osensei2987 He bud, I forgot this video: JKA SHOTOKAN KARATE HONBU

He remained undefeated in competition in all his 10 years of competition. An incredible accomplishment. I no longer train under JKA but did for years. I am not pointing these out from some form of allegiance. Master Tanaka Sensei is a Legend. Regards.

  • Tanaka was a real tough guy, he was imported to train the fledgeling Danish Karate association - which included formidable fighters like Bura Larrson and laterly Sven Ole Thorsen - and they felt he was out to break them! The JKA sent some bad-ass instructors overseas then, Britiain got Enoeda

  • @BluePittbull666 maybe.... But if he fight against you????

  • Bruce Lee said "Boards don't hit back..." but he loved breaking boards too...

  • if ya ever studied physics you know that they do "hit back"

  • Very good. Boards definitely do hit back, and sometimes they expose fake tough guys, who have big mouths, but will break their hands if they ever hit anyone. Oss.

  • It's OSU.

    Not oss.

  • You say its osu? I'm not disagreeing with you, but I'm just curious where you get that from. I've seen it spelled both ways, and I'd like to know which one is correct.

  • It's written in English as "Osu", a contraction of the Japanese term "Osu Shinobu".

  • Thanks for the info. I'll look into that.

  • @njtr It's osu, but the u at the end isn't really vocalized, it's almost a whisper, leading to the misspelling. Also, a lot of people just say "ich," but it is in fact "ichi." Again, the "i" at the end isn't vocalized very much. It's a crazy language and I am no expert, by any means, but I have studied a very small amount of Japanese, and have managed to learn that much. I hope that I was helpful.

  • actually it's Oss

  • yeah boards dont hit back, nor do bags but how else are people supposed to get more powerfull,i hit bags and boards all the time i cant just go round hitting people just because they "defend, hitback"

  • E non mi fate incazzare, eh!?!

  • he is powerful

  • For those who have no idea of My Great Sensei Tanaka pls do not put any stupiest comment.

    Oss

  • board dont hit back! or move! or defend!

  • bruce lee's original saying!!!

  • Neither does a punching bag, but you don't see retards yelling at boxers, "bag dont hit back" ... your perspective on what/why people strike boards is a little skewed buddy...

  • A board cant move so what i say is true breaking boards is all well and good to demonstrate power but a human being always has the option to get out of the way as i am a black belt in the art of shotokan karate i know this well but we all have our own oppinion's

  • what the fuck.....

who is this sensei....sensie fucking nobody....where is techniquoes----i think...you can kill mosquitoes with thtat technique...but never beat a man!

  • I think you are the nobody if YOU don't know who is sensei Masahiko Tanaka. Demonstrating something is one thing; do correct technics in kihon is anothet. And Tanaka sensei is a respected, and well known karate champion and instructor.

  • If you don't know Sensei Tanaka, then you're nobody. And if you think you can never beat a man with the technique that Sensei Tanaka has demonstrated, why not try being the attacker to Sensei Tanaka? You'll probably don't know what had happened coz' you'll most likely be dead by then. And hey, watch out your loud mouth coz' some stinking words are coming out of it.

  • karjalainentoni - this guy is ancient now, but I would suggest you look him up and say that in person to him. Make sure you have a really good doctor available.

  • His heel comes of the ground and he is sliding when he strikes, where does he think his power is going to come from? His center isn't even facing the board when he hits it :p

  • My thought too. Well, he hit with enough power to break the targets - establishing a lower bound. Perhaps he could and would have used better technique if he'd had a worthy challenge? Nothing wrong with someone knowing that enough is enough....

  • Sensei Tanaka ftw! Seen him once or twice :D

  • 3- time world individual kumite champion at a time when there were only a handful of karate organizations (thus much more competitive than it is today). stfu.

  • I love how the ignoramuses of this planet talk about Tanaka when they have absolutely no idea who he is or what he can do. Shameful.

I'd love to learn under someone like Tanaka Sensei.

  • to all the people who arent aware of who tanaka is an feel it is necessary for criticizing him for this demonstration..tanaka is one of the most decorated intructors of shotokan karate and travels around the world to teach shotokan karate. he is crowned champion of many competitions...infact i believe there is also a tanaka cup named after him..i know cause my intructor won it. hes truly deadly...any type of "i can beat tanaka" ...well lets just say talk is cheap

  • I trained by him .. his trainings are very hard

  • bate num desses ai que eu quero ver!

    uhsauhas

    OSS

  • very impressive, but its a shame that blocks of wood dont fight back!

  • Neither to punching bags, which pretty well every modern day fighting style uses.

Breaking boards are used to simply "demonstrate" power.

And to see where your at in terms of it. *Thickness of board".

Instead of testing their power and technique on a human being, they'd rather demonstrate it on something non living.

  • fucking moron vosprings

  • have you got any idea whos sensei TANAKA???!!! assholes!!!

  • @5Gorinnosho he was jka gangster teaching lessons to yakuza bodyguards

  • tanaka would whoop your behind
