I think she looks great! I mean she's a 23 year old woman now and the skills she does are amazing. I'd like to know if the haters who pick on her about her weight have better looking bodies or can do a DTY... I bet not.
Russians and americans have extremely strong teams for 2012. The Romanians may make a big comeback with Ponor Izbasa and Lordache (and also now that Belu is back). The Chinese need Cheng Fei's perfect amanar if they want to challenge. Hope she gets it back
@aNoifmYg391 She was 23 in 2011..Not sure but if she competed at 2004 olympics, she probably was 16 at that time (at least), than 20 in Beijing, and than three years later 23.
doesn't have the core strength she used to have in order to really stop dead and nail the landing, but she still has possibly the greatest amplitude, technique, and form in the air of any female vaulter. She has plenty of time to work on conditioning before the olympics.
I can't believe people are bitching about her weight? Did they not see the same vaults I saw? She's still recovering and increasing her difficulty back up again. She's also far from fat - she reminds me of Shushunova in fact. Powerfully built and strong as an ox and I hope the rest of her career is as long as can be.
despite the start value not being her personal best, her precision is just amazing. she certainly sets a standard for vault whether or not the technical difficulty is the highest or not!
i dont think she needs to loose weight! she just looks a little bit fuller in the face but thats pretty much it! all veterans end up gaining a little weight so its all good!! :) i luved her vaults by the way! its good to see her back in action.
china kind of needs cheng fei on their team, all the gymnasts from 2008 have lost their touch, its safe to say they were all at they're peak back then.
@slavaro1992 Well considering her astounding degree of athleticism and given that she has been dealing with an injury for some time, her weight seems like a trivial matter. She is a gymnast who has worked and will be working rigorously. Her weight doesn't seem to be holding her back technically, so I suppose any qualms about her weight would be a personal problem :P
@qweenxxbee I agree. I just want to see her highest difficult vaults. And because of her injury and skipping few years she need to be in the best shape for Olympics. I believe she knows her problems and will be working on it. It's just my wish for her because she deserve a medal, maybe even gold medal.
personally... i think she looks great!! yes she is bigger but i think it suits her,

she's probably the only chinese gymnast i've ever liked. she has so much personality and so much sheer determination.

I am happy for her comeback. Can you imagine another Olympic with Catalina Ponor and Cheng Fei??
Goegeous leotard. Most beautiful since 2008 Olympic games for China. She's so much pretty now, because she grew.

@slavaro1992 Part of it is her bone structure. She's a young woman now and is never going to look like a thin little whippet again.
