Its quite evidently "photoshopped".. Unless the photographer would like to paint his subject in greyscale and make them eat a strawberry. This is not dated, its a classic shot, you might call it the "Lady in Red" shot. Its easy to pull off and great for beginners.
@metronomic1 can you please provide some examples of what isn't a cheesy/dated effect then? what effects would you recommend? I'm genuinely interested to find out seeing as I'm just starting out with this :)
This is the most overused, amateur looking effect anyone could use on their photos. A good photo should look untouched not tarted up. If you don't want to look like a clueless beginner don't use this effect. You will get laughed at.
@wansiton Not using cheesy, gimmicky and dated effects. A good Photoshop image shouldn't look "Photoshopped". Stuff like this is the easiest way to spot an amateur.
i kike the music, i like what you have done, and i think the way you have done it is easy to follow.. only thing is i cant delete bits i made a mistake on as im not using a mouse, any other ways?. thanks =)
Have a problem. When I start to bring the color back using the erase tool, the Pan Tool (hand) stays up. At times it looks like the eraser is up, but when I click the house to start to bring the color back, it just want's to pan the picture. What am I doing wrong?
Photoshop does it faster and better :)

This makes absolutely no sense if you have the real version of Corel, not the trial.

Can you not just create a duplicate later on the original image and then greyscale the one on top? Skip all the copy+pasting. :)
