Thanks for posting this. It seems to me after hearing it that Peter Sellers, in the scene in Lolita on the porch of the Enchanted Hunter, is doing his best Kubrick impression.
there where alot of great filmmakers...i think stanley kubrick set the standard for the next generation and they set a standard in which we shat upon.
this reaffirms what i suspected. the greatest filmakers usually have a background in photographic composition (kubrick) or advertising (ridley scott), or music videos(david fincher)
Thanks so much for posting this. he is by far one of the biggest thinkers of the last century... a walking brain.... his films are ace in every way. Nothing comes close.
I don't think it was done over a phone, it sounds like they were in a room together with just one microphone near Kubrick, probably why Jeremy is quieter
Great interview, thanks for posting! I listened to it on my 2001 DVD and wondered if there was more because it ended somewhat abruptly, your posting confirmed that's all there was.
Every. Fucking. Film.....was different.

@sketchyfolk wouldn't go that far, saving private ryan? although he's certainly a sell out when compared to the likes of kubrick..

You're ignoring a lot of great filmmakers with that analysis.

well i guarantee you all the great filmakers understand the principles of photographic composition if they havent been schooled in it formally.

0:55 Kubrick's true aim - to correct without hesitation
