Having just read Chasing The Dragon I too had to watch some of the videos that help piece it all together. Great book, great band just a shame about the drugs and alcohol. What a loss his death was.
i am also reading chasing the dragon going back watching the videos with a bit better understanding of the shape they were in at the time A very talented band .
just finished reading marc hunter biography "chasing the dragon". great read, i was 13 in 1977 and i thought marc was hot then and still do watching this clip. sexy as. pity he was such a tortured soul, the amount of hard drugs and alcohol that went into that 7 foot tall body...am surprised he lived until 44 years of age...sooooo sad, such a brilliant man gone too early. RIP MARC HUNTER
im a big fan of dragon but especially love this song the chorus basically kicks me in the ass everytime i hear it , i always turn it up as loud as possible, such a classic rock song
@notsuperstitous1 yeah, i guess he had good intensions, but he seemed to be behind the more commercial items... could he be the reason why so much aussie music failed over seas?
@nzoz1977 I can't agree totally, I lived through that era and to me there was no Men At Work etc, no fascination with Australia. Australian music was unique. Skyhooks and Highway aka Sherbert tried. Little River Band had a sound that captured the imagination. I think it is even harder now to break into the US and UK markets despite the internet age. However, it is possible for music critics to be powerful back then as now. Look at John Peel, he launched tons of careers and now Simon Cowel.
@brismike65 that sounds bleak ... then again, we are living in a world where the highest viewed video on youtube when you search for 'music' is Justin Bieber with nearly 300 million hits.
@nzoz1977 bloody Justin Bieber and that bloody hairdo.... bloody no talent arrogant little stuck up arsehole.... but I digress, thank God we know the music from days past and still appreciate it, hey dont get me fired up, I might start a rant like windows Vista.....hehehehehehe
It all works hand in hand... if you give the great majority stupidity, the great majority will be less enlightened.... but then again, a lot of them grow out of it and regret listening to such trash and perhaps would feel ripped off! There are heaps of kids coming on my channels professing that today's music is shit - so at least there is sense among the world's newbies.
@ace69er exactly, the spoiled brat with the hairdo that looks like it belongs on the head of a Chinese Racing Duck.....the no talent that will disappear to wherever the child brat performers go...... usually rehab
Sorry for not accepting your friendship invite on my nzoz1979 channel. I tend not to allow friends on what I consider channels. I really like your channel! I will add you to my alternative account 'OnceWasRstrathfield'.
Lol Tarrant - remember this song from back in the day - glad I never saw the video then - wasn't gonna favourite on account if the atrocious chich dancin thang - until I saw you comment re Kath DayNight's cuz. I did lol at that. :-)
good on ya mate keep listening , having lived through those times i can assure you it was fun and the music as you have heard was great , not too sure about the fashions though lol .
@mattyu21 : You are a rare breed little one. To the many idiots at your school... pity them as they are unable to appreciate this kind of music, they will live on in limbo to the current style of music without realising what they're missing..Empty souls is what they are.
@mattyu21 Im 18 and i love 70s and 80s i even had the pleasure of meeting some 70s and 80s aussie rockstars guys like Tim Finn, Steve kilbey, Ross wilson and last year i met James Freud who tragically commited suicide a month later..good on ya Matt..
LOl at the girl dancing... feel like going out to get some 4711 ice cologne and some thread earrings, a boob tube and jeans tight enough you have to lie on the bed and pull them up with a wire coat hanger in the zipper hole LMAO! oh and have to wash my hair with apple agree shampoo ( giggles) ah those were the days...
I admire her ability to keep that boob tube up! When I was 10 I'd wear one and it would ALWAYS fall down on me. Maybe 'cos I had no boobs then - I wouldn't even find one that fits now!! lol
damn girl, let me put on some old spice, pull on my skin tight bell bottoms and open floral shirt with the gold necklace and wrist bracelets and lets go out to the leagues club. Heheheheh
classic 70's Aussie rock :) i was 10 in 1977! I must read the biography of Marc Hunter -sounds interesting -so very sad he died so young....

Molly Meldrum, he did a lot of damage to the Australian and NZ music scene . The way he used to push certain artists was horrible .
