If they were ever heading to california. Harry would probably say "Huh, I was expecting the sand to be al ittle more golden than this. Loyd: I was expecting the same thing, those beach boys are full of shit man.
every time my family drives close to the Rockies(considering how we live in Montana, so we drive by alot) everyone is trying to be the first one to say this line
Umm because Aspin is in the rockies which is near mountains?? If you see no mountains in the direction your driving wouldn't you assume your going the wrong way??
John Denver wrote Rocky Mountain High, a really good song. They're thinking these are the rocky mountains and they're significantly less high than he said they were. :)
it is so sad that john denver died before his time. I watched a dramatized documentery movie about John Denver starring Chad Lowe, and Kristen Davis, John Denver loved to fly, and make songs, and he will always be remembered rest in peace John Denver.
I'd say John Denver was overall more pop then folk...definitely folk and country with an overall pop sheen. I wouldn't put him as a folk artist with Bob Dylan or Neil Young or those types because it doesn't make sense...
My dad used to work for John Denver and they were really good friends, and I've never seen him laugh as hard as he did when this scene came on in the theater.
@casinobowling John had a great sense of humour about himself.I was at a concert where he said,"How many of you bought t-shirts?(tour merch) After a show of hands he said,"Heh,I DARE you to wear 'em!",knowing many considered him uncool.I think he'd have thought it funny.
Denver had an upbeat, optimistic image. So Harry's vicious reply seems all that much more out of place.
It's like that Simpsons episode where the street hippy's singing "Sunshine On My Shoulder" on a hot day. Then a passing pedestrian socks him in the face.
Actually, whilst JD was mostly folk he could be called a pop singer,as he had No 1 hit records on the pop charts in the 1970s.
As they say in the VH1 doco,in 1975 he was 'biggest pop star of them all." I was a kid then,& I can tell you,Denver was a pop star. Easily as big as Michael Jackson was in the eighties . Teenagers had posters of him on their walls .Pop mags devoted whole issues to him. He was on the cover of Time and Newsweek
Why the hits stopped & his star faded is a bit of a mystery
@IwishIwereJoe He was a great singer-songwriter.He sold over a 100 million records. In 1975,he sold the most records in the world. He died in a plane crash in 1997,aged 53.Look him up on wiki-he was great.

@CeruleanFilms So John didn`t find it offending? Insulting? An outrage? He didn`t sue the Ferelly brothers?

An American country music singer and songwriter. He died in 1997. He wrote a song called "Rocky Mountain High." That is the song Carrey refers to.

dude he was a pop singer, he had acouple countryish songs but he even said himself he doent like being called country

Your confusing him with michael jackson. He was a folk singer not a pop singer.
