@METALLIKIDofTBR Helicopters are Ground attack, not heli on heli, if a Warthog was in the area of one of these Helo's it would be shot down by the lastest Russian missile system, I think SSB 500, they lead in Missile technology,
@brendonnz1964 doughtful the A-10 is a tank, and russia developed its first heat seeking missile from captured and reverse engineered AIM-9. but im not trying to start a debate, i just want to see one of those get tore up by the 30mm avenger cannon. i think it would look really cool if we could see that at 1000 frames per sec.
Yh I couldn't remember if the pilot sat in the front or the back but using the camara makes sence still a awesome looking copter sad to see them go when they get replaced by the MI-28's
@tomchambo To my knowledge : no problem for the pilot, but yes, it reduces the view of the WSO in front ! But this drawback is nothing compare to the advantages procured by the FLIR and the systems .Do you know why South Africa helped Algeria when western was sponsoring terrorism in Algeria, spread the "who kills who?" intox campaign and refused weapons delivery? Algeria was the leader in fighting the Apartheid and the zionist/neocolonial regime in South Africa
i checked it, nice too. but it would be cooler if the rooivalk could put his wheels into the body back (broken english). the mi-28 can't do it too, i don't like it when you see wheels on a flying helicopter.
It was started by french engineers and is wholly south african with about 90% of its 400 engineers from south africa, its also its a seperate business the the other ate's holding 700 ip's they created in SA
Whats so super about the new one?

Why don't they make a Mi-28N SuperHavoc?
Ome99 1 year ago 5
@Ome99
because it's A LOT easier and cheaper to take the EXISTING hinds, and update them with modern electronics, weapon systems and avionics.
.
The reason the hind was replaced was the fact that as a dual role helicopter (transport and gunship) it was far too heavy.
.
Now with weight saving modern technology they CAN perform the same tasks as modern gunships, and transports.
.
Choppers will always rely on countermeasures. No matter how agile an Mi-28 is it still relies on flares.

hey just asking, don't these models have that camera ball on top of the rotor? if it does, which pack does it come from Mk1, Mk2, or Mk3?

It looks great but wont the new camara and gun mount block some of the pilots view of the ground?
tomchambo 1 year ago
you know i was thinking the same thing but i think the pilot sees through the part that would block his vision through his helmet mounted display

is the rooivalk new?
ZARBOMBA 2 years ago
yeah, I totally agree...when the wheels go back into the under carriage I think it looks longer and more sleek .
the rooivalk's maiden flight was in 1990 but was only introduced in 1999 and since then has had many upgrades
