  • time+materials+effort=too much.

just buy one from someone who makes em cheap and get filming.

  • They need a counter weight to make the movie less jumpy.

  • I thought he was drilling through his thumb at 2:22

  • sex at 2:55

  • Can anybody write down the ingredients for me???

  • nice work ,i m impressed by this video

i also want to make same but the problem is that i don't have tripod stand

So my request is can u post another video of how to make a tripod by wood like u made a turbo mini jib.

it is my humble request to you plzzzzz make a wooden tripod video

thank u , and keep it up

    bless u

  • this crane end up costing 80 f***ckng dolars and i had to go more then once to the shop , i asumed you only needed one 2.4m wood, and there is a problem with the t-nut because all tripods have a difrent type of passes(passes are tose space between each circel inside the t-nut) so i had to make a very strange adapter

  • Okay, I went out to buy all of this, and you never listed the quantities, so I assumed I only needed one of each item. I had to go back and make multiple trips to get all the items, which wound up costing more like $70, and they had absolutely no idea what a "Corner plate" was. I had to go home, print out a picture of the video and bring it back, for them to get it. This was a fucking nightmare to make. Why the hell were instructions never made?

  • If you want something a bit more professional but still affordable (£95) I sell all metal portable jib cranes, check out my channel!

  • how much i want to make one

  • @ghostCAM45 at the beginning they say 25$

  • What's with the "Ross" guy and his unseeable "trailer"? @ 1:17

  • One minute and 17 seconds of supplies... Wow!! :D

  • ..Bourne supremecy..bom

  • I would't trust this crane and risk a good camera! I made one of metal for 15 bucks! Go check it out on my pange!

  • all the money you spent on tools you could have bought a new crane

  • no counterweight - no quality

  • Oh NO!! I don't have a beard and/or mustache! I guess I can't make this build D:

  • I have both a beard and a mustache. Both are quite impressive. I am more than qualified for this.

  • A simple iScrew. xD

  • At my channel I have a video called The Peacemaker where i used a crane arm. Check it out and if it gets enough views ill make a video on how i made it for less then $30

  • so much wood could catch on fire....a very dangerous crane...... and too expensive!!

  • too expensive

  • very good

    very useful

  • could you make a list on all of the materials needed? talking too fast and couldnt quite catch the measurements.

  • @prankmastr620 they have them on their website, just type in the build name, they have plans for almost all the build they do!

  • What do you have against weights on the control end of your cranes? Both cranes you've shown built out of wood you didn't use weights, and that makes the sample footage really jerky/jumpy.

  • sucks.....

  • what was up with the man hunt thing

  • Very Goooooooood !!!!!!!!!!

  • nice share....

  • 0:46 WTF!?!

But anyway, I combinated this with the dolly, i think i call it a Jilly...

  • The end footage is so jumpy..

  • @nx2overide if you have video stabilizer effect on your program you can just use that. If it was super jumpy then i would not be happy but i built this crane and i love it.

  • wich are the igridients its that they talk to fast

  • A lot of their videos are so freakin amature.. The shots they got from this are absolutely horrible..

  • Uhhhh, your lowbudget tripod is only built to support 7-10 lbs. I would assume you'd need a 30-50lb tripod to support this design. I've seen people mount cranes to speaker stands though - that could be an option

  • wtf:d 2x drill a pilot hole

  • I cant afford it! D:

  • If you tell your parents about the project, I'm sure they'll be pleased by the fact that you want to do something productive. Therefore, they'll help u out.

  • @heavenseek yea..... parents , prolly just yell at me lol bithes

  • i did not understand a thing that was said i like bfx better

  • Great video, but there are lots of problems with this design, guys. Those t-nuts pull out of Pine SO easily (they won't twist, but they pull out the same way they came in) You need a hefty metal plate on the bottom to prevent this.

Also, the wood-on wood friction here is pretty intense, even the simplest cut-from-a-margarine-container bushing would help smooth things out. Better yet: hack apart a pair of roller blades, for the bearings.

Also: counterweight? We don't all have Flip Minis.

  • @EricFergusonCinema Im just thinking maby for the problem w/h the t nut you could super glue it in or maby just use duck tape, its not going to be the most sturdy-est thing ever but it might work

  • holy shit thank you indy mogul! i built my own and it is amazing. but...... the only thinng that was a bitch was you didnt mention anything about the quantity of the ingredience. so that was a problem i came accross.

  • score, i have a beard and mustache... lets do this...

  • what type of camera is that at 1:34, and how much does it cost approx.?

  • i think its the canon XL2 its like $2000 +

  • insructions, build plans ?

    i need them

  • Make a test movie!

  • 0:04 whats that song?

  • zombie spy movie?

    from russia with BLOOD

  • nice video.....love the comment about rep. and dems!!

  • I wish I had somewhere to store this jib if I made it. I would love to modify this design to add panning of the camera plate only.

  • Great tutorial, but seriously,

The best sequel of all time is the Godfather part II, No contest.

  • "God my boss is a dooshbag" lol

  • "that good looking girl in english class might mistake you for george lucas...but I'm not sure that will help your chances with her"

    Hahahahahahahahaha LMAO

  • Excellent jib. For smoother operation add a counterweight at the back. For a jib this size a brick should do. Find the right balance by resting it in different places then drill a hole through the brick and bolt it to the jib. For greater camera stability just attach a spring from under the camera mount pivot to the underside of the jib arm. This'll keep som tension on the camera pivot making it smoother and more controlled. You can always remove it if you need to do the poor man's tilt.

  • umm nice video but can you list the things you need and the instructoions in the discription??

  • exactly!!

    indymogul!!

can you guys listen to us, your audience!!

is like 5 thumbs up for this suggestion!!

can you specify your requirements in a list like in the description?

    thanks

  • go to their website, all is revealed....

  • thanks

    lol

    never thought about that.

  • @slr284 It's in the video(the things you need) -.-

  • Nice

i have never heard them called paddle bits before

i was call them spade bits not that it matters

    good video

  • in tha begining it looks like rob dydreks old house

  • you rock indymogul

  • great stuff ingy mogul - keep it up! :)

  • ownt

  • yes!! im mustashio!

  • damn i just shaved 2 minutes before i watched this =(

  • Very cool!

You should provide plans for builds like this.

  • Very nice. Use hemlock for your wood; costs more, but also more likely to be true and straight. And if you stain and varnish it, it will be beautiful.

  • i was going to build this, but thats one heck of a shopping list, i mean where the hell am i going to find a beard???? lol

  • dam cool buddy!

  • im definately making one, and its saving me alot, the retail price on one is like $2,500 and im just gonna add some tweaks to make it counter weight to make it smoother footage, this could be extreamely helpful for shooting sports, and also i know espn uses one for all sporting events. thanks alot definately going to try this

  • Just made mine, tweaking the original designs, and I love it! Thanks soooo much for the idea. and I LOVE INDY MOGUL!

  • Thank You

  • Nice wanted spoof xD

  • Good Job! I saw that you put a little FLASH camara: from where do you take it?

  • Im making one this weekend, bored, but saving me ££££. Ill let you know how it works, and if its worth it.

  • please do... im thinking about making one.

  • it obviously works, however I am building one currently and to buy the required stuff it cost approx. 90 dollars. not 25. Economic crisis...

  • im sorry dude but it aint steady

  • its because there arent any conter weight on the end (the back)

  • very annoying jokes in all of the videos here. NOt my taste of humor, but the editing of these tutorials is great.

  • That was really good idea. Thanks for it.

    bAEsE Filmproduktion

  • what the fuck, this isnt direct, tyou say you need an 8 foot board but that is just for one peice, your need another 6 feet of wood to go with it. Because of this i juist fucked up the project.

  • thats a lot of work

  • How do you see what you're filming? My little display is to far away see what you're filming.

  • You can have a platform on the side of the thing close to you with a LCD screen or a portable DVD player that is plugged into your camera.

  • thanx

  • this is very complicated.

  • i want to build this but my tripod is specified to hold only 5.5 pounds will this work on my tripod?

  • lol you can see Erik at 0:55

  • I'm making this right now!

  • why did he try to eath the ratchet!? lol

  • show!!!!very good

  • Well done, and you should be selling this (the instructions) online (video and pdf of written instructions). One suggestion, incorporating some sand bags for weight, which will steady the movement somewhat.

  • a little shaky but still kool. Are thhere any written directions?

  • Check out their forums.

  • k. thnx

  • super shaky.... this may work for low low low end... but, dont let epileptic people watch the video. honestly, unless your trying to get really high up in the air, your better off going hand held.

  • hey that was so cool im righting down the things you need but if possible can you send me your video or text the instrucktions any ways nice job

  • i wanna make this but where are the written instructions

  • where can i get the written directions?

  • Very cool! I have a beard and a mustache!

  • a beard and or a mustache lol

  • I want to get one!!

    How? How value?

  • I'm making that next weekend!

  • thx for this man im nows using that crane

  • LOL GOD MY BOSS IS A DOOUCHE BAG ... LOL

  • thanks

  • great idea guys!

    thanks again

  • suggestion: put sum weight on it... it will make it smoother, and a counter-weight on the other end.

  • thank you, i made and it helps alot..

  • this seems like a good idea, but do you guys have the plans for the camera crane typed out somewhere so I can print it out?

  • im combinding this with the other one did you use a hand saw???

  • This is awesome and i made ti in about 2 hours it helps me get awesome shots for my guerilla filmmaking. I also made the boompole amd they both rock very easy to make and i am only 12 so good job 5 stars

  • "they turn smart"

    lol

  • how heavy a camera can I place on this. Canon XHA1 (2.26 KG)?

  • how much is that in lbs i think it should hold it buim not sure i recomend you make the other one if yo0u have 80 bucks liying aroun its much better

  • Awsome! Congratulations again!

  • Totally awesome!

  • hahahaha

on the indy mogul forums brisboyross

never shuts up about his new movie lol

  • MIKE!!!, Being mean to Steve!, Classic!

  • Hm, I don't quite understand the uniqueness of crane shots. The snorricam was cool, but there doesn't seem to be any true function for a jib. Can anyone enlighten me?

  • A jib allows you to easily move your camera from low to the ground to way up high in the air. Along with something like a varizoom (or re-routing your piece of string if you're using a $25 jib), you can create all sorts of complex shots.

  • thanks!

  • If they were more careful when filming for the test movie, the video would move smoother as they moved the jib, but the way they do it, the jib seems to jerk and you lose the nice smooth motions found in professional movies, although i realize that those movies also utilize much more complex and expensive tools

  • wow, all that looks really simple to make *add sarcasm here*

  • I don't think you mean countersink... I think you mean counterbore.

  • hey guys I have a good challenge for you...let'see how much would keep underbudget to make a crane mounted in a truck or car and the cool thing is having the tilt and pan function on the camera stand.

  • wow

  • I sure i called the right number for the spy zombie movie title

Anywho i really like the videos like this where the awesome things you guys make arn't hundreds of thousands of dollars and us poor people can actually make them

  • WOW THIS SI MADNESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS cool ^^

  • NO! THIS IS SPARTA!!!

  • lol

  • hey, why dont they make an episode that goes into more detail about using it

  • Very cool video!

I can't believe I never thought of this. I build everything around the house myself, but when it comes to film, I just kind of took it for granted that stuff like crane shots were off limits due to budget. Thanks so much for the idea.

  • very very helpfull you guys saved me like 1000 dollars with this project!

  • seriously? this is easier to build than just about any project given to any 7th grader in an industrial arts class (where they use far more complex tools, like drill presses and table saws). this is not compound mitered angles or heavy geometry, it's 7 straight cuts and 6 drilled holes based on general measurements. it doesn't take 7 years of carpentry to measure and drill.

  • Yes, but an industrial arts class includes THE TOOLS, AND THE INSTRUCTION.

    GEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZ....

  • you're suggesting that a drill and circular saw take years to master? tell that to every dad that built a doghouse or see-saw or tree-house with their young son. moving on: this build is not beyond the skill-set of most teenagers; let alone those of which that have access to their father's or uncle's pile of tools. as someone who worked in hardware stores for 7 years of my life, i can say that 90% of those that want to build this could manage to whip it out without being "FUCKED", as you put it.

  • I made it on friday and it only took me about 3 hours and it was simple but i didn't have any carpenter classes or anything.

  • I just called in and said, the zombie spy film should be named "Dead Undercover".

  • god, this shit's confusing.

  • is that a wriststrong braclet?

  • Just Miaw

  • Thanks once again for making this video Indy Mogul! I asked and you delivered! ;D

  • I making one this weekend. thanks indy mogul.

  • who is this bearded genuis who has hi-jacked weekend extra? what happened to steve nelson? now he is just a lowly actor!

  • Another great show!

"It also helps if you have a beard and/or a mustache"

  • wow holy fuck that is amazing. unfortunately i do not have the tools and the money to build this wonderful machine at this time...

  • I love indy mogul, but I think a lot of ppl would agree that it waz bttr without the advertisements

  • this is ausome i so wanna do this but there are so many directions it kinda seems hard

  • Guys with beards and 'staches are hot. Knowing how to use powertools? Killer! lol

Good instructions, liked the parts list at the front end.

  • Does anybody else find the person who does the comentating very dull.

    Good tutorial though.

  • Awesome.

  • It was kinda shaky but still that is very useful crane great job!.

  • Nice job! Im gonna build one :D

  • I have to admit, I got giddy while watching this.

  • awesome that would really help me in some scenes! thanks indy mogul uve done it again!

  • anyone else think that something was wrong with the audio during the building scenes, like something was missing. did they usd to play music during that part.

  • Wow haven't seen Mike for a while, surprisely saw him on the test film!

  • Great~!

  • THIS is GREAT!!!

  • ...though good didn't we already do this?

  • You need a life seriously.
