  • oh man! this is class, it just makes me wanna twist,

  • Chics had more soul back then . . .

  • @gojira2006 Well thank you gojira2006, I never thought I would be put into the soul genre I like the sound of that, yes indeedy.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Wow... I've never heard this or seen this till now, but I think i like this FAR more than the original, which was kind of nasal... It's amazing what one can find on YouTube...

  • @shmuli9 I must say that really is a compliment, and I thank you for that.

    Jackie Lee.

  • i can see where duffy got her ideas from now.

  • ugh...they were doing the twist the whole time ...not the locomotion...

  • @phoeniciangemini Ha Ha Ha, yes you are right. We knew nothing else, we did the twist to everything.. Thats how smart we were.. Ha Ha Ha.

    Jackie. Lee

  • @euronick61 Thanks a lot for your message, glad you like this version.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Jackie Lee had one of the best singing voices ever!

Every time i hear Jackie Lee i am immediately transported back to my youth, an innocent time, sweet!

  • @milbury55 Hi there, wow what more can I say what a fab comment, you know I may get a big head. Much appreciated.

  • does anyone have jackie and her group singing IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER from way back in 1959 for uploading.

  • @davidwalsh66 Doesn't exist on film, as far as I'm aware. I'm not even sure if any performance if this was ever recorded on celluloid. The 1961 British Song Contest was the first filmed TV appearance that I know of.

  • @davidwalsh66 Hi David my goodness that is a jolt from the past. This recording was never on video as far as I can remember.

    Cheeers,

    Jackie Lee.

  • @davidwalsh66 Hi David, Wow thats a jolt from the past." If I had my Life to Lve over" was never on video as far as I can remember there were only a couple of recordings that were.

    Cheers,

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee You were a right little raver, weren't you!

  • @phil1958uk

Hi Phil, how did you guess, how perceptive of you, Ha Ha Ha.

    Jackie Lee.

  • i must say its ridiculous to compare a record made in 1963 with a version made in the 1980s ms lees version captures the mood of that era perfectly. she made a recording of LAZY BONES and AN OCTOPUS'S CARDEN which are superb it would be amazing if these songs turned up for our enjoyment.

  • @davidwalsh66 Hi David thank you for clarifying that for me. There was quite a vast difference in recordings made in the 60's as to the 80's also the look was different as you can see. I know there is not a video of Lazy Bones or Octopus's Garden that I know of as they were strictly just songs that I picked for my Album.

    Thanks again for your comment.

    Jackie Lee..

  • Atfirst i thought this was Jackie Chan, and i think that Kylie Monogue's version is better. i am hooked on it.

  • @puremana22 This is really a funny comment,

    jackie Lee.

  • @puremana22 Oh you are funny puremana, I had no idea that Kylie Monogue had recorded my song. By the way I think she's great.

    Jackie Lee

  • @MsJackieLee lol, your voice is good too, its just that i like hers better

  • @MsJackieLee Hi Jackie, Yes Kylie's is good but knowone can beat Little Eva's original from 1962! I like your's too but very bad filming. But anything is better than nothing

  • @DowntheEastEnd I tend to agree with all of your comments. especially the filming of it. Would you believe that was filmed at a Sound Studio. It was either Elstree or one in that calabre. I cant bring it to mind at the moment. Dreadful lighting, dreadful hairdo dreadful makeup, dreadful wardrobe. I thought the guy's looked great. They made me look a hundred and two. I also agree with you that you cannot beat the original such as Little Eva's or any original recording..

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee Oh good, I can agree you with the actual filming but the fact like yousad it was filmed o an actual studio suprises e as studio versions of sons are usually quite good quality and well prepared fo anything. Youhve some good vocal pipes on you which you should be proud of.

  • @DowntheEastEnd Ha Ha Ha, I like the good set of pipes expression. Yes I was filmed on a sound stage and I believe the virst video ever ever shot in the UK for a so called Juke Box.

    Jackie Lee.

  • It's cool, Jackie. Not many of us would like to be held accountable for everything we did at that age.

  • @hookalakah Hi there, thank you for taking the time to comment on this Utube. I'm pleased you think it's "Cool". I think it makes my rather older looking than I was at that particular time. I think I look far younger now, Ha Ha ha.

    Jackie Lee.

  • RARE! still fresh.. 5!

  • I vaguely remember it from 6/5 Special or thank your luck stars (or something like that). Anyway the presenter is making a link from a previous song where it was supposed to be hot 'n' steamy. Before getting too picky, that was how it was then. TBH, this clip (in colour) was cutting edge in the mid 60s, when, in the UK, the original (people off the street) version of come dancing was polling more viewers than Top of the Pops. Close your eyes and you'll hear a great version of this song...

  • @glaustin Oh glaustin I think it was so much better than this dreadful Video. However I thank you for you very nise coimment.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Re below: Poor Jackie, The lighting on the opening shot is rubbish. So that they didn't get the shadows of the railway line stencils on her face they have lit her from the side at head height causing dreadful shadows and getting some of the uplit "mystic meg" effect. Watch when she turns the corner into the full light and forget the opening shot. If you follow up link on "more info" on this channel you will find she was quite a looker and an outstanding singer. As for the presenter!!.

  • @donestoring Thank you for this comment. At least someone knows about camera work and lighting.

    Bless you.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Is it just me, but the presenter at the start is clearly sweating, he stutters and appears very disoriented! After his introduction the camera then goes to 3 film extras sitting motionlessly - most likely exhausted but NOT primed for the film camera! The three are not aware the camera is filming them! Then we cut to the "star", who if I can be frank looks rather "old" to be a "teen star"! Sometimes you see these old music clips and you wonder what were they thinking...

  • You're seeing the part with the presenter a bit out of context. It's following on from a previous sketch. As far as Jackie Lee goes, she's not as old as she looks in this clip. I agree she doesn't look young but if you see video clips of her from the 70s she looks quite a bit younger. I think the fashion of the time didn't do her any favours.

  • @rrrripbing Thank you soooooo much for this comment as I know I did not look as old as this Utube portray's. It was such bad camera work and lighting.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @drbuzzmann Oh dear I must agree with every word you have written, I dont know what they were thinking of when they shot this Video. It is sooooooooooo bad. I look a hundred and two to say the least. Thats what comes from bad lighting and dreadful camera work. If I could have seen a replay I would have never have let it be shown in public. I even look younger now.

    Jackie Lee.

  • bravissima Jackie Lee! grazie Florette69

  • @eliotclay, thank you for your nice comment.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @eliotclay Sorry I have just seen this comment, however as they say it is better late than never in replying to it. Thank you so much for the Bravissima.

    Jackie Lee.

  • Isn't Jackie just a little long in the tooth for all that locomotioning? We won't even get into the concept of square versus hip...

  • Wikipedia says she would only have been 27 in this video, but I would have placed her closer to 50! Still, enjoyable video.

  • @SirBasildeBrush I agree with you. In this Video I look ancient. The camera man should have been shot at dawn plus the lighting man. Dreadful.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee. Whooops, I was just telling Mrs Basil I really hope you don't find this comment. My apologies, especially as you're such a good sport about it. Sorry Jackie. I loved the song, and you look great in saturated technicolor. I agree about the lighting crew.

  • @hookalakah I must tell you that I was only in my twenties when I made this Video, I know it is hard to believe. The hair darling what a sight. Oh Dear, what can I say/

    Jackie Lee.

  • What's wrong with the presenter at the start? Sweating, stuttering, disoriented...knocking the pills back I wonder??

  • Refreshing!!!!!!!!!

  • Nothing says "rhythm 'n blues" like four English gentlemen in Saville Row suits and bowlers!

  • @scotpens Hi to you, the guys did look neat didn't they. I'm not too sure about myself. The skirt and blouse was a little twee wouldn't you say, Ha Ha Ha.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee: Twee? How so? It's a simple, classic outfit. Now, if you'd been wearing something with a lot of ruffles or a poodle skirt . . .

And, despite the bad lighting, you didn't really look THAT old!

    All the best,

    Scot

  • @scotpens Well it's nice of you to say so, thanks Scot. I must admit It was supposed to look as if I was going on a train ride so the Poodle skirt with the ruffles would not have been very appropiate.

    Cheers,

    Jackie Lee.

  • @MsJackieLee You looked stunning. x

  • @killaoflimmus

Oh My goodness, Do you want me to get a big head. Its working, Ha Ha Ha, Thanks a million.

    Jackie Lee.

  • legend!

  • What a beauty!

  • shake it jackie...

    love yah!!
