I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and I have a nearby microcenter which I allways go to... Can I use a 1100T AMD with a GDDR5 graphics card with your build? Thanks Nice Video You Inspired Me To Build yours but better hehe
How does that 5450 perform when editing video, more specifically HD video?I want a new PC for editing, converting/encoding/transcoding HD.Ideally, I would like system that can do this fast without breaking a sweat, but i'm worried the Radeon 6450, the current generation card i'm looking at, won't be up to the task because it's such a low end card.
Newegg just had a huge ass sale on DIY kits, I picked up a 1055t System and 12 gig of ram, just settled with on board graphics for now (its a 4 series raedon..) and it costs $445, and agreed, nothing in best buy can TOUCH custom CPU's for the price.
I would have got a 64 SSD and a 1terabyte hdd and loaded up the editing software and os to the ssd and used the hdd for everything else. I love MicroCenter!!
@psychedelnick1 Actually I may end of doing that. I thought about that originally but the ssd drives are still kinda pricey. They have got to come down some more! I'll admit they are a lot cheaper than they were 2 years ago..
i am looking into building my own gaming computer what would be the different between your video editing and a gaming computer and what kind of price difference would there be?
@greenfarmer60 Much better GPU. If you have a nice 4-6 core CPU, you won't need a better one for gaming. Also, you have to go with a bit better PSU. And of course, you need to make sure your cooling is good enough. I'm about to build a decent gaming rig soon, and the total cost will be around 750€ (!! In Fin, everything costs 10% more).
@greenfarmer60 Not a huge jump in price but you would want to go with a better graphics card, at least a 600w power supply, aftermarket heatsink and fan. A few hundred more would do it. I would personally go with an Intel I7 but this one will work. You could save some cash by going with a smaller hdd than what I have and possible even tone down the ram (wouldn't recommend it though).
@brute4567 I got them locally from MicroCenter. Comments won't allow links but their address is microcenter com. They sell online as well. You could probably find them even cheaper at some other sites
I feel having a A6 or A8 paired with a HD6670 in dual gpu for awesome power in the same chore

BTW, what about the kits at tigerdirect? those are about as cheap as buying the parts separate..cuz you still have to build it.

@homoguy563 It seems to do pretty well. Or at least I think so. I did have to get a warranty replacement already so maybe it's not so hot :(
