Gangrene Anti-Smoking TV Commercial

A few years ago I was in hospital to have nails removed from my legs and on the second day they put this guy into my room with me who just had his left leg amputated below the knee thanks to this.

I don´t know what was worse: The smell of his other leg (starting gangrene, too) or his 24/7 whining and begging for a smoke.

I´m glad to be a non-smoker.

Smoking stats are such bullshit, if you drop dead at 85 of a heart attack and smoked all your life they will say cigarettes killed you BULLSHIT. Also love the study that says you lose 7 minutes of your life for each cig. Really? You just happend to know when the guy was going to buy before he smoked and when he would of died after? BULLSHIT!!!!!

@ilovemesomechicken Actually, many cases...the person is in their 30's. It happens anytime in your life. Their statistics are true; they simply studied people who have smoked all their life. I mean have you ever considered how so many smokers end up with these nasty conditions. In this case, because of his smoking, he gained poor circulation in the body therefore, getting this. It is a nasty diesease where the flesh is dead. I dont know why anyone would start smoking in this day age.

@vladdesa I know smoking increases the chances of cancer and that other shit but not by much for example they will say you are 3 times more likely to get cancer ok 3 times what? 3 times 0.0000001% chance? Im not exactly scared of a 0.0000003% of getting cancer. They hide the percent cause the percent is higher yes but its still a very low percent and most smoker dont die of cancer. Majority live a long time

@TheGabrielleMarquez The only reason it happens is from a lack of blood flow, so it could happen from a bad infection causing swelling. Smoking decreases the amount of blood flow to the extremities.

This guy probably had diabetes or some other preexisting condition.

I think its based on smoking causing blood clots and if bloodflow is stopped in the legs it can cause gangrene to set in.

john17972, smoking does not directly cause gangrene. Smoking leads to an increased risk of PVD, which then leads to gangrene.
