This is the attitude they are teaching in American Public schools. The overall mindset being promoted by public education and the media is disdain for freedom. Americans are absorbing this attitude like kool aid and it never occurs to them that they must question and think for themselves.
All the while, they are living in prosperity due to our enlightened Republic. Wake Up!
