I have loved David since he lost his head in The Omen. He was great in Time Bandits and Time After Time.
In Star Trek Final Frontier they wasted him. All he did was stand there looking handsome. But Hornblower! He should have got an Emmy! His breakdown when he realizes how he's lost it. And the cute way he looks down the hole and says "Spanish Ladies."
no, the tree did nothing. the man was just singing because he stood up to the baker who cheated him out of his money. He's happy cos' he got his money back from the baker!
me too! I've been trying to find it with no luck. It's available on Netflix, but not on instant play. I guess I'll just have to wait for it to get here.
I get more of an "I'm gonna kick somebody's ass when this scene is over" vibe.
Some actors are just better as villains, and he's one of them. It also freaks people out that I can mimic his voice practically bang-on. And I'm even a southern Yank lol.
@scarabmango LOL @ "I'm gonna kick somebody's ass when this scene is over." I can't breathe!!!!! You're hilarious... OMG... I don't get that 'vibe' at all though. To me, he was just a long, lanky man walking merrily through the woods and singing a song (and singing quite well, actually). I remember seeing this back then and my heart fluttering for him. =)
My absolute favorite actor!!! You can tell he was really enjoying playing a good guy for a change. I enjoyed watching him in this role (the dad in Hansel & Gretel).
I'm currently playing Baldur's Gate 2, so now I've got an image of Irenicus singing this right after taking my soul! LOL

It's actually the Giving Tree... You work out the rest.

You know, this song could EASILY be sung by Irenicus, were he in a good enough mood. The lyrics actually fit his evil schemes..."what a tree" indeed.

Oh jeeze. I can't get that image out of my head now. Irenicus singing as he kills my party dead, sheesh.

After seeing him perfecting so many wonderfully villainous roles, I stumble upon this. It's great! I can't stop laughing.

Gotta love David Warner.

His last sentence "Oh what a life" actually sounded villainous. But of course, he also does the voice of Jon Irenicus...
"Life is strength... This is not to be contested. You live, you affect your world"
Yep, it's good to see him play a non-villainous role for a change.
