I work at a small town near Winter Haven, and if you work and live in the same area, I know you've seen horrible incidents of racism many times as I have. I (I happen to be caucasian) will never understand why people try to fight racism by projecting it onto others. That makes no sense; you can't be responsible for anyone but yourself, and if you practice fairness, it has a tendency to spread, just like intolerance.
Affirmative Action discriminates against Asians the most. We are the minority but we comprise almost a 100% of UC schools here in CA in Engineering and Sciences majors. We get into college based on merit, and that is the only way. Asians do not whine and complain like other minority groups like Blacks and Hispanics. We do not want to lower ourselves to their standards.

Regard Michelle's "patient dumping scheme;" it wasn't that at all. What Michelle Obama was trying to do was get patient's with limited means to pay their bill access to care for chronic disease such as diabetes. Instead of using the Medical Center ER for care, these patients would be able to see a doctor (for cheap or for free) and get their illness under control before it became an emergency. Nice lil distortion there Ms Malkin.

Also in her books, she bashes immigrants from the past and now. It sad she's articulate and educated and she says controversial things to promote her books. Honestly though... I love that she is bringing these things up, but her delivery feels like FOX news! She's bright, attractive and communicates very well. She's not likable and bullies anyone she communicates with. She is a female O'Rielly. I think she could be more successful and garner more sales if she played her tone down more and freak out in her interviews. She would sell more books anyway.

no. you need to stop bullying in your interviewers. Let someone talk once in awhile. I read some of your book at B&N and might have been interested, but your an opertunist as much as Obama is/was. You could have handled that interview better with Lauer and Behar, but you just ran over them and bullied them. Everyone let's you talk and make your point, but you don't allow anyone get a word in. That's not much of a debate. that's more being a coward in my book.

Really, A.A. is racist in itself. In reality, if there is a minority of an ethnic group, there will be less of that minority graduating than the majority. Simple logic.
A.A. deprives recipients of its treatment the pride of knowing they're just as competent (or more so) than their peers. Meanwhile, others who're more capable and deserving may lose opportunities that they may have otherwise had.
You can't dream of having equality until you treat everyone the same. Get rid of Affirmative Action!

Well, at least AA was and is an attempt to better level the playing field among candidates for all positions. It's not perfect, probably never will be; but I think it's better than letting all employers just hire whoever they want; I think we all know that a large portion of them would automatically go with the white guy first, or the white woman second, etc. Michelle Malkin is crazy. Period. Her eyes are way to shiny and her ideas are far off the track.

I don't think either of us can speak for every business owner; and look at it this way: when the civil rights legislation was passed in 1967, it's mandates were ignored by some employers. AA was part of a solution to that problem. I happen to live in an area where there are quite a number of racist people (Central Florida), many of which are in a position to hire employees. I KNOW it is only the law which stops them from throwing out every application submitted by an african american. Sad.

Racism is wrong no matter where it comes from. I work at a small town near Winter Haven, and if you work and live in the same area, I know you've seen horrible incidents of racism many times as I have. I (I happen to be caucasian) will never understand why people try to fight racism by projecting it onto others. That makes no sense; you can't be responsible for anyone but yourself, and if you practice fairness, it has a tendency to spread, just like intolerance.

Affirmative Action discriminates against Asians the most. We are the minority but we comprise almost a 100% of UC schools here in CA in Engineering and Sciences majors. We get into college based on merit, and that is the only way. Asians do not whine and complain like other minority groups like Blacks and Hispanics. We do not want to lower ourselves to their standards.

When you put certain people at a disadvantage simply because of their race/ethnicity, then that is discrimination. Affirmative action is nothing but discrimination against Whites (and often Asians). Again, because of the historical impact of PAST discrimination and segregation, affirmative action is still a necessity today to level the playing field. When the playing field is leveled, only then can we eliminate AA. And it takes a long time to correct the wrongs of historical discrimination.

The reason they become best sellers before they hit bookstores is bc conservative book clubs buy these books in BULK. They sit in a warehouse and are even given away for free to people. They have to game the system in order to make it look like their book has some sort of value.
