  • Sorry i dont like this version, it should be kept as the original version and nothing else

  • My chorus group is singing this(; -3 Best song we have done(:

  • My chorus is singing this soon. :)

  • What a shame the English language is losing its nuances. "Trebles" should properly be restricted to boys. It is the same thing with "students" - where the proper word should be "pupils". Using it demeans the real meaning of "students", when one goes to college or uni after school.... IMO. This is a children's choir of boys and girls.

  • Is it a bit fast? But as whole, they sang quite good^^

  • why the hell can't people sing it properly like when it is sung in church

  • Evidently, 8 people burst into flames when in the the presence of all things bright and beautiful.

  • Their smiles are convincing enough for the performance-- all things bright and beautiful.

  • not that they're not good or anything but this isnt a treble choir...there are girls in it.

  • Pretty good. but i wonder. THe boys doesn't have any power. they sounds just mixed with the soprano. -,-

  • @balezzaku they are boy sopranos and the idea is that they blend in with the girl sopranos.

  • @musicedworld oh i c. i think i didn't see the SA choir. haha. thanks anyway. but it's pretty good in SATB anyway.

  • So nice to hear this famous Sunday School hymn in Rutter's arrangement sung by KIDS!!!

  • This is exactly the tempo I would choose. Perfect!

  • excellent choir, excellent blending, tempo is way to fast but it didn't manage to ruin it on the whole

  • thisis a good song

  • haha .. were going to sing this version , this comming monday .. oh my god :)) i really love this song ..

    - oDEHssa :X

  • Impressive. It may be a little too fast, but also somehow.. sparkling. Reminds me of a small river flowing on rocks.

It's no small choir but the voices sound as one. Not an easy thing to achieve with kids. Compliments to the conductor.

  • @Bartkun Yea, The Blending is impeccable

  • these kids are amazing! most highschoolers at my school can't sing like this!

  • there are two versions of this song, and they are both sooooooo beautiful!!

  • now I see you posted here to lol, this is the version I dont know the tune of, but want to :/ any idea ?

  • lol my choir is singing this version

  • Omg its way faster that what i had to sing at my choir concert!

  • That is WAY different from our choirs version. It sounds better when you slow it down & have alot of grace notes for the girls. We are performing this at Southern Divion in March.

  • its too fast i sang it in my Church Chior much slower!

  • me too

  • what is up with this version? I certainly have never heard it before :S

  • all u muppets moaning that they are out of tune and that the tempo is wrong, y dnt u get a life, there only kids singing not pros. they sounded good 2 me

  • A person of reasonable intelligence would recognize that any criticism regarding the tempo is not an attack on the performers, but a commentary on the carelessness of the director. And I concur-- this is so rushed that all the lovely minutes inherent in this piece, that would otherwise speak beauty and joy to the spirit, are lost entirely because of the lightning fast tempo. Pity.

  • Agreed, dont blame the kids, it is indeed the conductor's responsibility.

  • @gimmeachallenge I agree that it is a little fast for the kids, but people also have to realize that Rutter's version is supposed to be much faster than the original. The original has the tempo somewhere around a quarter note= 50, his version is at 112. That's how he wrote it. They should have done the original hymn version to get the slower beauty out of it.

  • A wonderful song.I had the great pleasure to sing this song in a church in cologne yesterday and john rutter himself was there. Many thanks.

  • Beautiful song ! sang this for years in a choir here in Germany ! Amazing felling to sing John Rutter in a church ! :)

  • sang this two years in a row. Love this song.

  • i luv this wonderful song..i will sing it at my church choir,, but the tempo is too fast!! still good though

  • my select singing group at school is singing this and she said this is how its suppose to be and she said to use this video to practice with

  • We are doing this song in my choir at the same tempo. But the thing is, we are trained singers not new singers. I think its way too fast for the children here. But this truly is a wonderful song

  • kinda faster than the version we sing at my choir....

  • I think the tempo is an ok tempo...however I believe this tempo maybe too difficult for the children to sing at this tempo. A slow down maybe necessary in order for it to provide a less rushed feeling for the listener. Rutter sometimes has faster tempo songs however, never rushed songs.

  • i dont think its too fast at all, i like the song and i think its sang well

  • What's the hurry?

  • There is no hurry, the original score does state that it should be sung at about that tempo.

  • You say "sung at about that tempo" That also means it could be slower! and it should be, I agree with the others. Some of the detail is missing or rushed over, and where is the phrasing? This is just pushed through without much feeling at all. For a truly beautiful performance listen to Libera, that's what it should sound like.

  • Too Fast.....

    But good harmony............

  • bit fast for my liking but its ok :)

we did this in our choir but a little bit slower and in two parts awell as you :)

  • me 2 I did the split in our choir and it was slower 2.. I'm in soprano. but I like the alto and the bass's slit..

  • wonderfull song!
