Personally, I find Ms. Snow's interpretation very well paced... The vivace sections (marked vivace ma non troppo) are faithful score, and unlike youtube versions by Barenboim, Serkin, etc., retain the essential restlessness implicit in the figurations which are building blocks of the first theme. As such, the slower sections (Adagio expressivo) are well highlighted by contrast both in tempo and mood, emphasizing a measure of relative repose and reflection. A very nice rendition...
certain "rubatos" (if that is the correct use of the word) Maybe more pedal. I view this piece as very fluid. You may not agree at all. Check out my version if you want! Good luck, and very well played!
A very thoughtful version of a very thoughtful piece! Very nicely played and superb technique.
What I hear in this piece are EXTREMLY sensual (almost sexual actually) and the opening vivace should be taken slower, and maybe less choppy. The adagio is too fast. Beethoven was known for his VERY slow tempos, and while I like the way you played at your speed, I didn't like your speed. In the second vivace section the rubato was confusing, and I was having trouble seeing the relevance of
Well done. Now: I think you need to take the vivace bars at a more leisurely pace. At the moment it sounds molto vivbace, not vivace. Try introducing the tiniest hint of timidity - an infinitesimal, hardly discernible lengthening of the very first note in the sonata, and let that colour your mood. I'm a very poor pianist compared to you, but have been listening to this sonata for 50 years. Have you read Tovey's comments?
Thank you for offering such thoughtful and constructive ideas. I appreciate it very much. It has been a life long effort for me to controll my inner race-horse. I have not read Tovey's comments, but will consider doing so. Best wishes to you.-Melanie

Thank you for listening and commenting. Yeah, I have a tendency to romanticize my classical pieces sometimes. Thanks for the advice. I'll check out those first few bars. Music is always a work in progress. I look forward to checking out your channel. Best wishes to you.
Thank you so much. I don't know a fugue from a sonata. It is so great of you to post these videos on-line so that people like me can enjoy it. Again, thank you for sharing.
I actually have the 3rd movement learned but not quite perfected yet. My goal is to complete memory work of the whole sonata and post it. I do agree, the third movement is the most expressive. Give me another month or so. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

You capture the spirit of Beethoven in your playing. Only the first bars in the beginning the left hand could be more clear or rythmic?
Very lovly performance!
