Tutorial - How to use Audacity

when i try to import audio to edit on here, the original is 55mins long but when i load it onto audacity it is only .96 seconds long. do u have any idea wat is going on???

I am having trouble recording with Audacity using Windows & on a 64-bit computer. It records fine, but I can only monitor the first track. When I try to add harmony, it records, but I can't hear the first track at all. Any ideas?

@mikigohan96 If you asked me that question but about 'Power sound editor free' I would have been able to tell you :) It's got a more nicer interface than Audacity, but I have a problem with it seen as I upgraded from XP to windows 7 =/

This software is shit from a user experience standpoint. Do yourself a favor, and buy a music making/editing software that isn't so difficult to understand. Your money isn't worth the  frustration you experience while using this free software.

when i want to record a second track on audacity it doesn play the first one, which is percussion so i cant get me timin right and all

if you look on preferences (default CTRL+P) and look in the Audio I/O tab there should be two checkboxes at the bottom, check the first one (Play other tracks while recording a new one) it should work.

However i find that there is some delay between hearing the output and recording the input, havent figured this one out yet, anyone help?
