If only Jerry Lawler COULD have gone on Russian TV. They'd be sitting there munching on a raw potato thinking; "Shitting hell, I thought OUR haircuts were horrible"
Why exactly did Lawler go to Chicago to win the Southern Heavyweight title? AWA super card or something? For that matter, why would Wahoo have been in contention? Very odd.
During the Cold War this was a huge motivational piece against the russians and helped spark the hatred we felt at the time

Notice the early mention of Jesse Ventura - never knew he was in Pro Wrestling; maybe everyone else knew it, but I didn't....

Kaufman was the greatest IRL troll ever. A true genius.

Andy was not a troll, he was an artist, and trolls who use him to justify their behavior are sad.

Mid-South ran a similar angle with Nikolai Volkoff breaking a sack of wheat over Dusty Rhodes (who was visiting at the time.)

And also Southeastern Championship Wrestling did a similar angle with Austin Idol/Boris Zukhov around 1983 or so.
