In my opinion the new Splatterhouse is fuckign awesome! TONS of blood,splatter kills rule,good graphics,good story line...and one of my favs...the music! Whats better then having heavy metal play while killing monsters and making blood go everywhere?!?!?!?!

What I was talking about though is from what I have read the new higher ups in Namco don't really care at all about Splatterhouse and the Dev team who did this game and were passionate about it and the series were disbanded. The music in the remake is remakes of the old series, 1 through 4, and has an industrial punk sound to them. The remake is a remake of the series, not just the first game. And you do get to actually see West and find out his reasons. You also do learn more about the mask. 'Nuff said, play the game to find out the rest.

Five Finger Death Punch, Terrorizer, Mastodon, ASG, etc. are all in the soundtrack. L.O.G. only has one song in it "Walk With Me In Hell". Wow, you just made yourself look like a dumbass! LOL
At least they brought back everything except 3 things you mentioned. Multiple Endings, Music Remakes, and Jennifer's Transformation. However because of the ending it may speculate that's how she'll mutate. But in all honesty it is still a fantastic game to play. It would have been nice to hear Biggy Man's theme redone for his fight. And multiple endings welp you still have Jen's pictures to gather and see if they'll make a difference.

This new splatterhouse was kinda dissapointing. the only enemies that it has from the old games are: biggy man and mirror rick. and i like the metal music in the game..but i wish they could have remade the old music into new metal ones. and its kinda cool to hear jim cummings voice the mask. but after a while it gets annoying.
Biggie man is my number one for the remake also, thats the frigen coolest boss ever, its crazy, but in the new one, they make him a little fat, not full on obese, just kinda fat.
@IsaactheImmortal Biggie Man was easy in the first one if you knew how to fight. Carrying a shotgun from the start of the level to the end, you can have 2 shotguns in the fight, enough to kill Biggie Man while hiding in a corner.

Good and well made enemies, monsters, as you even listed in images, the bosses and monsters actually are really disgusting and creatively creepy and gorey, something you don't really see too often. The exception of those that I KNOW are creepy and gross are many enemies from Dead Space AND....

The Jennifer transformation in the new game better be done with special care. Seeing how we now have the magic of cinematic we better get a scene of a young idealistic woman writhing in pain crying as he body is torn apart and she becomes that hideous thing. It should be both heart breaking and disturbing. Like the cinematics in Silent Hill 1

The "innocents being tortured" thing could make a great gameplay element. Rick could argue with the mask about whether to save them or not, and if you save them from death/mutation, it can affect whether you get a good or evil ending (like The Suffering).
Also, maybe freeing them can give you power-ups, or they can explain what's going on, even become sidekicks and help you kill things.

@64supermarioreturns 2 things they did do but you didn't ask for are: The original Splatterhouse trilogy on the disk (with the arcade version of splatterhouse 1 instead of the PC-Engine one) and keeping Rick a hero. I hate when they do this in new games, just beacuse a character is bad-ass and violent, doesn't make him a villain. Rick is still a hero in this new one, none of that "Anti-Hero" seeking revange on humanity bull-shit.

One of the things I loved about Splatterhouse is that Rick is a good guy and is only trying to save his girlfriend from Dr. West, this is also true in the remake. But here we get to understand why Dr West is doing all this via Journals and thanks to very awesome later level.
It would be cool if they put a time limit on the time to save your girlfriend. If you beat the time limit you can save her & keep her from transforming.. but if your too late you have to destroy her. >:D That would make a nice plot twist.

The "Terror Mask" an ancient relic temporarily fused to your face, inhuman strength, what he appears to be wearing doctor scrubs, and his bare hands and feet in a gore fest is classic in my humble opinion! This new one is very...uh...rock in-roll, heavy metal-ish! And the Incredible Hulk thing ...well...uh...I just dont know dude! It worked perfect in part 3, but he still looked human, which I felt was correct!

I've got an old TG-16 copy of this game; its got to be at least 15 yrs old from when I bought it! Looking at it, I cant help but wonder if this new one is going to bomb!
I think a good idea for bringing back some of the classic music tracks would be to convert them to a metal or hard rock type of genre. Hate it or love it its a thought of mine that I wanted to share.

Its a remake, he has been anounced to be in the new game. I know this because in the new game West is Rick and Jennifers teacher and it has concept art of him on west mansion website.
Don't forget the womb of the house. I want twice as much womb juice this time around lol. Also they got to keep the fact that even if you kill a boss you can still die. Like in the bedroom after you kill that painting that chandelier can fall no you, or after you kill the womb it spits out womb juice that can kill you. Seriously without the womb level its nothing.
I don't think the new splatter house captures the atmosphere, graphic violent style of the previous games, plus rick in the new game looks a lot like rick transformed in Splat3 but only 9 feet tall and the music as far as i know is heavy metal or hard rock or something like that, not the creepy horrific style of the previous games. therefore i wont really like it because of these points. but of course i didn't play it yet, it could be a masterpiece for all i know.

@64supermarioreturns 2 things they did do but you didn't ask for are: The original Splatterhouse trilogy on the disk (with the arcade version of splatterhouse 1 instead of the PC-Engine one) and keeping Rick a hero. I hate when they do this in new games, just beacuse a character is bad-ass and violent, doesn't make him a villain. Rick is still a hero in this new one, none of that "Anti-Hero" seeking revange on humanity bull-shit.

@64supermarioreturns Sorry I rushed the comment due to the limit. What I meant I hate about modern games is that if the game is bloody and the hero is a bad-ass he always ends up being a villain. One of the things I loved about Splatterhouse is that Rick is a good guy and is only trying to save his girlfriend from Dr. West, this is also true in the remake. But here we get to understand why Dr West is doing all this via Journals and thanks to very awesome later level.

It would be cool if they put a time limit on the time to save your girlfriend. If you beat the time limit you can save her & keep her from transforming.. but if your too late you have to destroy her. >:D That would make a nice plot twist.

in my personal opinion they need to add some kind of multi-player for more than one person to enjoy..........and for the record it would be a good idea to bend the story a bit because in order to make it seem worth while it has to remade.Even though the older ones were good,they were entirely to short.I am very impressed with the new rick and i hope they got someone with a bad ass voice to play as him....all they need to do now is remake doom.Thumbs up if you agree with this comment

The "Terror Mask" an ancient relic temporarily fused to your face, inhuman strength, what he appears to be wearing doctor scrubs, and his bare hands and feet in a gore fest is classic in my humble opinion! This new one is very...uh...rock in-roll, heavy metal-ish! And the Incredible Hulk thing ...well...uh...I just dont know dude! It worked perfect in part 3, but he still looked human, which I felt was correct!

! I'm fond of the idea that Rick and Jennifer are two ordinary young college students ......Rick dont look very ordinary! Although I'm an old-school gamer but I'm not sour on fresh ideas as long as it's worth it! But I question the direction this remake is going! Because the original came out in the late eighties it was strongly influenced by the "Friday the 13" films and "The Island of Dr. Moreau" film obviously. But that was a good thing! Merging two great concepts!

I've got an old TG-16 copy of this game; its got to be at least 15 yrs old from when I bought it! Looking at it, I cant help but wonder if this new one is going to bomb!

I have some things to tell you about the new game:
1. There WILL be a shotgun, but it will be a shotgun-arm not a rifle
2. There will be tons of tortured people in the game
3. Doctor west wont be in the game... why? cause he is LONG dead.

I don't think the new splatter house captures the atmosphere, graphic violent style of the previous games, plus rick in the new game looks a lot like rick transformed in Splat3 but only 9 feet tall and the music as far as i know is heavy metal or hard rock or something like that, not the creepy horrific style of the previous games. therefore i wont really like it because of these points. but of course i didn't play it yet, it could be a masterpiece for all i know.

Well, you're definitely getting Dr. West, as he's the actual antagonist of the new Splatterhouse, from what I've been led to believe. You're also losing Big Fatty Man, and getting the ol' fashioned Biggy Man in his place (thanks to pressure from the SH community).
As for the rest, I guess we'll find out in due time.
