Do you think if I were to get those kinds of eyelashes for an MSD and clipped them to look a little less "foosh" as you said. xD That they would look okay on her? I'm not sure if my doll will come with eyelashes since I'm buying her as a "fullset" and all it really says is that it'll have clothes, eyes, wig, and makeup. Nothing about eyelashes though. D:
Taking the head off with the forceps and using it to clamp on the stringing itself is something that I did not think of. I'm glad I watched this video because normally I use pliers to pull the S-hook up, twist it, and let the neck support it, but I recently noticed that constant removal has led to some of the resin "giving way" a bit and was looking for a way to remove the head without relying on the neck to support everything. Thank you! :D

Very helpful, thank you! I was just wondering about eyelashes, as two of my planned dolls will hopefully have them (one I think ships with them, not sure, the other definitely doesn't). I'm thinking that if the DZ guy ships with eyelashes, I might make sure they're secure with a little more glue when I get him, if they're not already falling out like I see a lot of complaints here in the comments. ^_^;;
You mentioned that you used human eyelashes on some MSD heads, do you leave them the same length or can you cut the length down so they don't look overly large?
OK, you and your husband are SO lucky! :p I just love Obitsus!! And y'all have the 60cm one! :D
I'm just getting my very first Obitsu doll from Junky Spot's ebay store (and a few other ebay stores) but am waiting for them by mail. :p And this video is so helpful! Thanks for sharing this.
@candyxxx2006 Just in case you don't know, Obitsu is only one doll body maker. there are tonnnns of BJD companies which a much larger selection, her husband's doll is from B&G. I've bought dolls from Bobobie (Resin Soul's parent company), and want dolls from Fairyland, DollZone, and Dollmore. Soom, Volks, and Luts are some other popular ones. Wonderful, beautiful, eeeevil expensive dollies. XD
Gotcha. Thanks for the info. There are 2 forum boards I signed up with, & I've seen the list of EVERY company out there! It's very overwhelming!! And expensive? I knew about that part when I've seen that it can cost $600-$800 just for 1 blank dol! O.O I'll stick with the 27cm for a while! xD lol
@candyxxx2006 Most welcome, and yeah, there is a 40cm doll I want that is only $200 less than a 70cm doll I have on layaway now, and the big dolly comes with a whole bunch of epic stuff (Dollzone's Limited Asura). Asura will be $800, and my other two BJDs are 15-16cm that ran me $100 and $145. It really does depend on the company, pricewise. But ah well, such is the life of dollydom. XD
Might I just say, your rather adorable lol. And your videos are extreamly helpfull to a noobie such as myself >.> Thank you for helping me be slightly less confused lol :3
Someone recommended using a needle or straight pin to help. I think maybe you may want to use very little glue to get them in position and then carefully add more from the inside to secure them. It's only the tiniest bit more difficult (I've done it to a nanuri07 head 4 times and those are some tiny eyeholes)
Well what you do for MSD dolls is you get the human lashes that are smaller towards the ends. I used the halves with the smaller ends and it looks gorgeous on my doll. It flares out on the outsides of her eyes and it's quite decent. If all else fails, you could always trim the lashes themselves.
Hey, I'm really interested in getting one of those dolls, but I've discovered that they only have males. Is it possible to have those heads placed on a female body or does it need to be on a male?
I ordered mine from their international site, but there are several doll shops in the US that carry them, and yes there are only two male elfs that b&g produce
Love the shirt!

You can remove the annoying adhesive that sticks the eyelashes to the card with a product called Goo Gone. Great tutorial!

God I'm screwed. My BJD has tender eyes, so they are half way closed sort of. It's going to be such a pain in the ass to get my new eyelashes on.

Ah okay. What glue should I use though? I forgot to buy some glue when I ordered the eyelashes.

You're really good with just about any white glue. Even elmers school glue does just as fine as Aileene's (which is what i use)
