  • @jackson6745 We at the MD artificial reef foundation here in MD bought them processed them taking all harmful material off them and then sunk them. You guys did it too start a foundation in your state and you can buy them as well

  • @imaking867 Thanks for the explanation!

  • R32s rock. Instead they should rebuild the old subway cars but R42s and R44.

  • new project underwater subway, but it make sense as the cars provide places for see life to thrive

  • Who the fuck would name a ship "The Judith M" ?!

  • what idiots. instead of spending money and harming the enviroment by tossing them into the ocean they could have sold them as scrap metal and made some money.

  • @KevinRobots wrong buddy these subway cars are actually helping the environment. They are stripped off all harmful material and create a new artificial reef that helps promote fish growth. Thanks to these folks your children and their children will have a place to fish.

  • @lilgman1017 Look at it this way: The cars wefe totally stripped. Nothing of ANY use or value is left on them, its all been reused.

  • where did they dump the subway cars?

  • they should of let the good ol boys graffiti paint them one last time before they dumped them

  • I don't get whats the problem with just refurbishing them and keeping them running, they keep the NYC look along with the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty, now they have all theses million dollar R160's and R161's I swear the city spends money on dumb shit smh

  • @esconyfinest These cars were highly inefficient they do a better good sunk as reef habitat than trying to redo them.

  • my dad cried because he worked on alot of r32's and he says years of work being thrown away

  • @lilgman1017 I don't blame your dad. Not only years of work, but years of memories as well. Now them sons of bitches are payin' for it.

  • @lilgman1017 its the circle of life, i understand your father's feelings...but now these outdated vehicles can serve a higher purpose. Rather than being scrapped and recycled into other metals, they now serve as a habitat to thousands of fish in the ocean. i cant think of a better use for them honestly, all you have to do is drop them in the water, no processing or anything...great solution for all the extra subway cars.

  • y cnt u keep them cam straight i coud;nt ha;f see

  • une vrai poubelle la mer

  • We reef 44 subway cars at a time (usually), not 46. 44 is the maximum we could fit on the barge. (I work on the reef program btw)

  • real sad that our subway cars are used to make reefs in others states, and yet we cant use them to make reefs in our own ny state waters. pretty fucked up if you ask me.

  • those are R32 subway cars. I livr in NYC and i used to always ride those cars

  • i kno. they are the best. still there are A LOT left

  • yeah but only 1/3 of the original amount. originally 600, now about 200 left

  • enough for me. i see them on the f were i live next to. pretty sad though. they could have still used them.
