no es tanto k alguien tenga la partitura, es el sentimiento conque toca la trompeta para mi es unico ademas el ritmo el sabor la candela y todo lo k lleva dentro sabor
this guy is one of the best trumpet players ever with excellent tone, perfect range and wonderful. Me and my friend abraham sanchez love him. We wish he can come to fresno to the william syronyn theater so we can see him.
Close your eyes while listening and jam. I put this on our surround sound and everytime once I open my eyes. I like freeze and say for a whole 15 seconds "daaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmn!"
OMG!!!! At 3:58 he hits, like, A TRIPLE Bb!!!!!!!! Arturo is one of my 3 main idols for trumpet playing, especially now as I'm at Berklee College of Music, It's Arturo, Wayne Bergeron, and Maynard Feguson. All 3 of them are beasts!!!
Wow I don't think Arturo was all that tired, he nailed a double high F# at the very end. I think Arturo actually enjoys playing more doubles that he does high g's, a's and b's. What's amazing about Arturo is that he uses a stock Bach 3C mp right off the shelves of the music store, nothing custom or fancy.
i concur, i think i remember hearing that he had been playing for several hours before this so his chops are kinda tired out at this point. It's tough for even Arturo to be beastly after playing for that long.
@FreedomUSA1 Yes, the Scouts did a nice cover of this song as their 1996 opener. Jon Schipper, now a professional player, took the lead solos...and nailed them.

That band sucked. Arturo was great for his age. Man he is still pullin them high notes from all over the place lol. But yeah that lead trpt. player was awful. Chick Corea was ok but he kept changing the tembre of the piece which was not that cool. Arturo is still the greatest, I mean after Dizzy though.
Thats chick corea famous for his latin fusion. And he is incredible on all types of keyboards and this electronic piano is part of his signiture sound. I thinks awesome.
that is chick corea. it was at jam miami. you can buy the whole performance on dvd. and i believe its a double f#. not triple. as c above the staff is regular c and double c is an octave higher so anything above the staff and its octave higher is double.
It doesn't count as double until you get to Double G. Anything below that is just "high." Therefore, double F# is a half tone below triple G. Side note, great video.
He does look like Chick Corea, I was wondering that myself, and I'm also wondering what the note at 3:58 was, which was sligtly higher than the one at the end. o.o
A mis abuelos means to my grandparents. His grandparents where from the Canary Islands, Spanish islands off the coast of Marocco, where I have lots of family. I know those islands very well. This is a wonderful tribute to los Canarios, and wonderful tune.
What is the date and location of the concert? Arturo is phenomenal as usual. His ability to improvise and somehow express the totality of human emotions through a crisp screech horn are at an obscenely illegal level. After hearing him you want to flatten your own trumpet with a steamroller because there is no way to even approach his mastery. BREATHTAKING!!!
I like the version with Roger Ingram doing the lead part up an octave. This is still an amazing video, it just would have been that much better with the lead part at the octave it was written at.
I really doubt it. He's switched from playing a trumpet before (I expect, since I havn't seen whats come before) to now playing a fluegal horn. The change of embrechure needed to swap mouthpieces can cause some difficulties in pitching. And then he goes back to trumpet again!
I saw him play this with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Finally getting to watch him play my favorite song by him live really changed my trumpet playing life forever
this was the second to last song he played in this concert. he played high and loud the whole time(I own the CD). Anybody would sound tired at this point. still a great performance!
one of the perks of getting old. still, he has done more amazing things on the trumpet than more of us. and recorded amazing things than most of us only dreamed about. Arturo I tip my hat off to you.
Listen to him play the hayden concerto its glorious with is wide latin vibrato.
