I think it really does matter if the pictures are authentic or have been photoshopped, even if it is for the sake of getting this message across. I'm a male model and I know what it's like to be poked fun of for being skinny; many people forget that some people are naturally skinny and don't have eating disorders. To portray these women as anything but what they are is what really grosses me out.
