@rcphotobob I get that comment frequently, and "it is easy" once you know how and have been doing it for 48 years. Thanks for checking this video out, I appreciate it, it wasn't easy playing over Jim Gordon's drum track.
I wish Clapton kept on this track with tunes like this but I have to say that I found his solo career kind of disapointing as the 70' went on. Regardless, great playing and a great tune.
I only wish you lived in or close to Ft.Lauderdale my brother because you are "hired" ! I would be proud to have you drumming for me anyday...Anyday ?? isnt bthat another Dominoes tune ?? lol !! great job.
@dtm01 Thanks a lot, yes, me too. I am getting the desire to hook up with fellow musicians like your self and play these songs out. Yea, Anyday, I may be covering that one, and some others from that classic album. Thanks so much checking out this video and keep rockin'!
The kit sonds like a dream. I'm beginning to understand now that your kit is programmable for different styles. I love Clapton but don't have a huge collection. I love this one I've never heard it. Your work is amazing as usual. The song is fabulous, sounds like a real George Harrison number, his great buddy!
@sbbinahee Thanks. Wow, you've never heard this? yes, George would on his solo album have a similar sound because due in part that the musicians on Eric's first solo album, from which this song is from, played on his too.
@jwatanabe90 Thanks. The kit may be electronic, but the sounds are real drums recorded in a real studio being triggered. But still, it's not as responsive as an acoustic kit.
Critique of my playing: I really didn't want to do all of that overplaying on the outro, would just be content taking a ride on the groove while digging Eric's great solo, but when covering the song I could hear all of this playing going on which influences me to do things I don't want to play..it's hard to ignore. Such is the disadvantage of playing over another drummer's work. I do very much like Jim's drumming, but sometimes I don't agree w/another's interpretation of what should be played.
Sounds great man! What preset is that on your TD-20, i just bought the TD-20x module, thats the newer one, with 100 kits, also do you record out 2 channel stereo, or independent drum pcs, eg: Kick track 1, snare track 2, hihat track 3? and so on, greater control over the mix this way, anyways any help would be appreciated fellow drummer:) Keep rocking!
Wow Sal that was an excellent cover. A great song choice. Very interesting information as well. One of the many things I like about your drumming is how relaxed you are and how effortless you make it look. Two great qualities to have as a drummer. Again, awesome cover. It's going into my playlist.....Nick
@readyeddy101 Thanks so much my friend Nick. It's very helpful to me to hear another drummer's view of my own drumming, Well if you found the info interesting here's more, what I didn't mention in the song description was that Jim is doing hard time for killing his mother, really sad & tragic story.
@rhythmantic That is tragic....yikes....well everyone no matter who you are has their own personal lives both good and bad. As for your cover it was one that I really enjoyed watching and got to admire your very good drumming skills. Beyond that it will be a good learning piece for me should I ever get to cover the song. Like you the bucket list is endless.....rock on my friend....Nick
great, you make it look so easy

Thanks, yes, I dig jamming w/Eric. TD-12 pads w/TDW-20 module, VH-12 hi-hat triggering a modified kit from Addictive Drums, probably the ADpak-Retro.

Is this a TD-12? Sounds great! Your playing is pretty good, too! Clapton is so much fun to jam along on drums, hm?

Great cover, tight groove, and fantastic dynamics, even with the kit being electric.
