In the course of the film, the military arrive in town and several people are being rapita by ET. In the end the boys investigate and come to the conclusion that the alien wants to go home. The boys say that humans are "good", the ET ride a spaceship and go away. Note: The ET like human flesh.

That movie was really, really, REALLY predictable. It was well-made, and the actors were great, but I knew exactly how it was going to play out after ten minutes. :/ Still, I would buy it and watch it again. It was a good movie. I was just hoping for an interesting twist, and it never happened.

Take it from someone who has seen it its completely worth your time. Even if you hate it anyone will admit they put a lot of effort into the train crash (which is amazing).
