Electric guitar amp will be too narrow frequency range for WAVEDRUM.

Usually, guitar amp does not fit to percussion/drum sounds.

I think bass amp (or electro-acoustic guitar amp) is better.

I recommend you to check it in the musical instrument shop by your own ear.

hey does the aluminum rim get scratched from sticks playing on it?

It does not damaged even if you beat with a wooden stick. However, there is possibility of damaged if it beat with more hard stick like iron.

So far I have only heard certain samples (tabla for example).  Have you tried adding your own? how easy/hard is that?

WAVEDRUM doesn't have any interface for PC.

But it has 100 preset that can modify with a lot of parameters.

Mridangam : maybe it can not make.

Cajon : Already there is Cajon preset. See my video "WAVEDRUM (WD-X) demo C". I performed with Cajon preset in this video.

Dumbek : maybe it can make kind of dumbek sound.

The sound variation has been wider,

It is possible to perform more easily,

It is possible to use it by more various scenes.

But, original one is more Mad !

i own an original and there are PROS and CONS. but as far as i can see (no external programming, no expression pedal) the PROS far outweigh the CONS. i want two to go either side of my original. perhaps another one so i can slant it for playing it in a tabla style. they are amazing.

A true unique instrument, simply amazing in terms of expression. I'm glad korg improved it and started producing it again. Can't wait until it hits the store-shelves. Nicely demoed and well played in this vid also... thanks!
