Fedor is no different from any other sport legend, who has hit a peak in their careers and are on the down side, in terms of physical ability and reflex. Just like MJ or Dr. J in basketball, Fedor must resort to a more cerebral style of fighting if he is expected to win against high-caliber fighters in the current Strike Force or UFC octagon style settings. That all-out "swing at the fences" style will not work for him anymore against these fighters who have been studying his tapes for years.

This guy actually payed some attetion to my question. I have been gambling since im 15 or 16 years old, i have been broke some times , and learned from it, I bet sports and play poker part time now . 1. Fedor isn't the same fighter he was 10 years ago.
2. He isn't fighting intelligently anymore.
3. He hasn't beaten a top class opponent (except arlovski, who just has the worst chin imaginable) for about 6 years and now hes taking a step up in competition and he just can't compete anymore.
This happens with fighters, they get over the hill, or the competition just improves to quickly for them to keep up. It doesn't mean he was never a great fighter because hes been beaten. Thats idiotic.

If Sylvia had fought in pride, he never would have been champion, let alone won any fights, he really never was "very good" Werdum isn't even very good, Fedor just didn't have his head in the game, and got caught. The Fedor playing games rant at the end is how i've felt since the Pride buy out. They dicked around and set fights against YES noteable fighters that were clearly safe fights. I was sick of hearing him being considered "the best" but completely stayed away from the fights that would deserve to challege that. MMA had began to shift at that point and an influx of new talent coming up. This would had been the natural order - Randy, Gonzaga, Werdum, Brock, Mir, Cain, JDS.
He clearly took the path of least resistance instead e.g.- Lindland, Hong-Man Choi, Sylvia, Arlovski, Rogers, Werdum,(loss) Silva & Dan are moot points from there. He probably would have gotten through Randy & Gonzaga, but look at whats right behind them in the natual flow that would have followed. At least he could have come and shown those who doubted him whats up. Hell, it may have even forced him to evolve with the sport & continue getting better.

But that Fedor vs Hendo shouldn't have been DNB, because it seems to me from your last video, it's a 50/50 could go either way, but because Hendo was at +250, it's atleast a GOLD pick, since +250 translates to 28.5% win rate (to break even), but you believe Hendo has atleast 50% chance to win, then in long run, you would make money, so GOLD pick

As soon as Fedor went limp, Herb Dean jumped to stop the fight. While Herb was attempting to push Henderson off, Henderson kept throwing punches and woke Fedor back up. Also, while Herb was attempting to stop the fight, he was blocking Dan from throwing left hands and pushing him against the cage so that he couldnt throw his right hand comfortably . Now imagine if Herb hadnt jumped in between Fedor and Dan, Fedor wouldve been knocked unconscious and couldve taken a dangerous amount of damage.

FEDOR over trained, plain and simple. The ref made a good call by stopping the fight, it looked like he was out, but he came back pretty quickly he could have let it go on a little longer. Right now Dan Henderson would be a tough fight for any light heavyweight in the UFC.
In regards to what Fedor will do. He should retire, but my prediction for what he will do: one last fight. He'll get an easier opponent & win his last fight.

Fedor is no different from any other sport legend, who has hit a peak in their careers and are on the down side, in terms of physical ability and reflex. Just like MJ or Dr. J in basketball, Fedor must resort to a more cerebral style of fighting if he is expected to win against high-caliber fighters in the current Strike Force or UFC octagon style settings. That all-out "swing at the fences" style will not work for him anymore against these fighters who have been studying his tapes for years.

As far as your betting/predictions format. I'd keep it the same. I think Dan/Fedor was an easy DNP. But if you have a gut instinct, maybe share it with your close friends only, but not on your videos. Like you said your picks are for people who want to bet a little money and win a little money and always stay in the plus.
So yea gut bets and picking what rnd and how someone wins; do that on the side.Because people wanna see your picks and how often your right, before they go with you.

Finally somebody else says it. Liddell was being fed fighters his whole career. They play perefctly into his strengths. All ground guys with no stand up. What can liddell do? He can stuff take downs and punch hard. Theres your Chuck Liddell era. I don't believe his chin left him, I think he just started fighting people that could actually punch back. I don't think Fedor should retire. If Mirko can keep fighting after several brutal KO's and losses to far lesser fighters (Kongo, Mir, Schaub, Gonzaga), then Fedor should fight on. Unlike Mirko, he didn't look like total crap in his fights. He can and will bounce back. Fight on, Fedor. BTW, this is coming from one of his biggest critics.

1. Fedor isn't the same fighter he was 10 years ago.
2. He isn't fighting intelligently anymore.
3. He hasn't beaten a top class opponent (except arlovski, who just has the worst chin imaginable) for about 6 years and now hes taking a step up in competition and he just can't compete anymore.
This happens with fighters, they get over the hill, or the competition just improves to quickly for them to keep up. It doesn't mean he was never a great fighter because hes been beaten. Thats idiotic.

Also he fights the same as he always did, hes just slower and it seems the games gone past him.

@karoolta I said Werdum Big foot and Hendo are step ups, which means they are good fighters. Arlovski is a good fighter, he just has no chin, like i've already said. Sylvia, Hunt, Lindland, and Rogers should all have been easy fights for him. If Sylvia had fought in pride, he never would have been champion, let alone won any fights, he really never was "very good" Werdum isn't even very good, Fedor just didn't have his head in the game, and got caught. It made complete sense.

The Fedor playing games rant at the end is how i've felt since the Pride buy out. They dicked around and set fights against YES noteable fighters that were clearly safe fights. I was sick of hearing him being considered "the best" but completely stayed away from the fights that would deserve to challege that. MMA had began to shift at that point and an influx of new talent coming up. This would had been the natural order - Randy, Gonzaga, Werdum, Brock, Mir, Cain, JDS.

He clearly took the path of least resistance instead e.g.- Lindland, Hong-Man Choi, Sylvia, Arlovski, Rogers, Werdum,(loss) Silva & Dan are moot points from there. He probably would have gotten through Randy & Gonzaga, but look at whats right behind them in the natual flow that would have followed. In regards to your "DNB", I believe it should be DNB if the fighter you pick to win has really bad odds, say Rampage vs Hamill with Rampage at -500. But that Fedor vs Hendo shouldn't have been DNB, because it seems to me from your last video, it's a 50/50 could go either way, but because Hendo was at +250, it's atleast a GOLD pick, since +250 translates to 28.5% win rate (to break even), but you believe Hendo has atleast 50% chance to win, then in long run, you would make money, so GOLD pick

As soon as Fedor went limp, Herb Dean jumped to stop the fight. While Herb was attempting to push Henderson off, Henderson kept throwing punches and woke Fedor back up. Also, while Herb was attempting to stop the fight, he was blocking Dan from throwing left hands and pushing him against the cage so that he couldnt throw his right hand comfortably . Now imagine if Herb hadnt jumped in between Fedor and Dan, Fedor wouldve been knocked unconscious and couldve taken a dangerous amount of damage.

FEDOR over trained, plain and simple. The ref made a good call by stopping the fight, it looked like he was out, but he came back pretty quickly he could have let it go on a little longer. Right now Dan Henderson would be a tough fight for any light heavyweight in the UFC.

Yeah if Fedor continues to fight...it wont be under ZUFFA, all i can see him competing in is the M-1 Global shows, or if M-1 co-promotes with another promotion. Still.... the level of competition he'd be facing would be meaningless and pointless.
Fedor doesnt need to do anymore, his era has passed and his legacy is secured. (although i'd like to see him go out on a win...maybe a rematch with Werdum, i dont think that will happen though)

Loved the rant! It's odd how so many (but not all) MMA fans are of the mindset that you're only as good as your last fight and that they don't understand that fighters start to decline after their prime. Maybe it's just because the sport is still so young, but man, the fanbase can be fickle like no other.
Also, the Federer analogy was great! You don't see tennis fans discrediting Federer's legacy just because Federer isn't winning grand slams anymore.
