  • Just saw the live pics of this train, it looks like crap! how come other cities that have this train, those ones look better but the TTC version looks like the shit they have now?

  • Omg. It looks exactly the same. Why don't they just leave all the designing to the public or the manufacturing company. What a waste of money. What's worse is that TTC goes around bragging abt how good they are. So embarassing.

  • Ummm....these have been sitting in the Yard at Wilson for months. Apparently, they don't fit into some of the entrances to the station. Nice call, TTC!

  • omg the ttc is horrible. make 100k for doing nothing. we could have had these probably like 10 years ago if it wasent for the union . these high school drop outs make more than lawyer and enginners. the virsus lol

  • stuck behind 1 of these on highway 12

  • @SPARTANB064

actually no. the main fleet of trains that hong kong uses were made in england, refurbished in australia. while newer trains were brought in from Korea. good enough for you?

  • Neville6000 you are a fucking stupid retard who has no life and spends all of his free time on YouTube posting like 50 comment on one video really ? And come on your comments make no sense because your a fucking retard how acts as if he's smart when realy he's a dumbass!!! FUCKING RETARDED FAGGOT

  • @fhghggofg: I'm not anything like you, a POS loser who is ignorant of municipal issues like transport and who (probably) votes in idiots like Rob Ford while taking pictures of sick men with heart problems (the George Robitaille incident). I know of what I speak, unlike you.Stay clueless and stupid, my young friend.

  • man i wish they implement the smart card like smitherman wants, that would be so nice... a step closer to looking like a good transit station... but i love the new street cars... we are like the only city in the world who uses light rails throughout the city,...

  • articulated trains just don't have that subway feel to it... a lot of the newer european and asian subways look and feel too much like passenger trains

  • Seriously Stop bitching about the TTC, i love what they are doing, and other transit programs around toronto are not even doing half as much as what the TTc is doing.. Mississauga, Brampton, Durham and York, they ain't doing half the amount of stuff that the TTC is doing.

  • @waterlizardz123 that's cause their smaller cities

  • I don't like these new trains. If the government likes them, then I hate them. Bring the old red ones back.

  • @leafyutube: The 'old red ones' are long gone, and are scrap metal. These ones are better, a lot more safer, and also more roomier too.

  • just seen this new train this morning at Downsview station..nicee

  • One superlong car will gererate a lot of noise from a 1000 people yapping all same time.

  • And than all the gangsters will scratch up the windows once again and the car will look like shit.

  • @DopeyBovineMan: No, they won't; they're scratch-proof, most likely.

  • Not, to be bad but, I like the H-Series and the T1's better. It would be really cool to travel in these one day. Despite everything The H-Series (H4-6) have been serving riders very well. (also the T1's too) I would love to see when these new trains Named ''T3's'' when they become old. I'm really going to miss the H-Series.

  • That's way better than the ones we have now. Is this why there are so many of the really old orange couch seat trains? because they're replacing the old ones with new ones?

  • Now the people of Toronto and I can rejoice and have RC races on the subway while paying for yet another fare hike.

  • no joke TTC needs to change the subway i mean the metro in montreal looks so much better and its older than the metro here in toronto i think. TTC reminds me so much of NYC but i have to admit inside the trains they look well taken care of compared to other metros.

  • 2006? what the fuck happened!

  • The TTC says the first trains will be in service in 2010. So sometime this year I guess.

  • @istewartbinks: They will arrive after the following:

    1. un-powered glide tests on the test track

    2. powered tests on the test track

    3. unpowered glide tests on the TTC system

    4. powered tests on the TTC system

The TTC doesn't order in complete sets, so this will take a while.__________________

  • Quite a long car don't you think?

  • what the name of the music

  • cool

  • It's an update let's hope for the best go T.O.

  • new cars, great, now they just need a subway to travel in

  • This video forgot to include the surly, rude TTC workers who forget what it is that gives them their jobs i.e. the commuters who use the transit system. It's the customers that give you your jobs - NOT YOUR UNION.

  • @Haldir1970: When you have to deal with rude, stupid people all of the time, you can expect to be treated rudely.

  • one super long car basically....i like it

  • I hope I see one on the tracks this year because they are so cool and it's time for the future already!

  • @WallsLeftBehind: You'll see some on the tracks early next year.

  • no they arent

  • If these trains come will the h4 and h5s retire?

  • yep :(

  • First TTC Train departs today for testing in Kingston.

  • when are the new trains coming out?

  • Im not entirely sure, depends if the first batch passes testing and are accepted by the TTC. If not I could be pushed back a while

  • late 09 to early 10.

  • @franki3Ru550 ttc says we will start seeing them on the yonge line this fall..september i think

  • They should make it a nice clean glossy color, and then put the safety glass windows, because its pretty and its supposed to reduce litter because people know it wont fall off the edge anymore, unless they're stupid, but there isnt alot of garbage, its just that the floors r ugly.

  • its getting more useful with the urban sprawl in the suburbs up north, but still its far from ideal.

  • well i'd argue that if the sheppard line actually went somewhere, ridership along it would actually be quite high.

as well high ridership doesn't necessarily have to be the prerequisite to build a subway line. a new subway line can just as easily be the prerequisite for high ridership.

  • the front looks 10x better than the older trains. Not too crazy about the middle poles but the handles attached to the railings is definitely a plus. Now, people just cluster around the doors since there is nothing to hold onto in the middle.

jchiapet, sorry that will never happen. you need to understand how much it costs to build a subway line

  • it's all nice and dandy, but until toronto expands the subway 10 fold, it won't matter that they have new trains. it's simply more comfort but same shitty service.

  • just what i was thinking buddy, they need to expand the subway and make it more accessible before they think about new trains. seriously.

  • new trains will be needed and now is actually a good time to get them, but yeah, i'd much rather have a more extensive network than a few good subway trains.

  • @jchiapet: The subway can't be expanded because it doesn't work in suburban areas; that's why Transit City was/is being developed. LRT works out in the suburbs better than subway, which cost way too much money in tunneling and other costs.

  • TTC needs to go to hong kong and get with the times and catch up with the future.

  • yeah I agree. Same ol' shit for the last 20 years pretty much. The only improvements I've seen for the buses within the last 20 years are: 1) A/C on every bus 2) hybrid technology. That's it! I find the newer buses have less seats than the older ones but overall they all suck. Subway, buses and streetcars suck.

Getting new subways is a start but also, they need to get those double decker buses that Go Transit and BC Transit go already.

  • @YoshiSeven: Why the fuck don't you move to Hong Kong, then, and travel the MTR until you're blue in the face? From a citizen of Toronto tired of whiny assholes like you-go and fuck yourself.

  • toronto = the flintstones

    hongkong, japan = the jetsons

  • @YoshiSeven hongkong probably has cheap china subway cars

  • @YoshiSeven now adays that is in reverse no thumbs up intended

  • @gtasandman actually... no it isnt.

go look at a picture of hong kong subway on google or something.

world doesnt change that much in 2 years.

  • @krisroo japan the earth quake an tsunami

  • @gtasandman the earthquake and tsunami were both really sad events, but in an year or so, people who werent affected by it will just forget about it and continue living on as they did before. Like the tsunami in indonesia on 2004.

  • @krisroo but its getting worst because of radiation leakage

  • @gtasandman yet all the other countries plan to continue using nuclear power

  • @krisroo hhmm

  • @krisroo if i put allthat money into it i would to

  • @gtasandman i dont know which part of toronto, hong kong and japan u've seen but if you want to continue believing that toronto is more high tech, then by all means go ahead.

  • @krisroo ? i havent live there to long i went form st lucia to tronto to new york

  • @krisroo k

  • @YoshiSeven

    YoshiSeven= fag

  • ya we really need them....but they are same as ugly from inside....and please get the subway stations renowated and bright...loooks like early 1900s when you go there

  • i think the train is called the T35AO8

  • lol we got em for two years already in australia.. slow

  • @StasCherry92: Who give a shit what the fuck you've got Down Under, asshole? Toronto has a lot going for it more than just having a great subway. Why not come and see for yourself instead of being so full of yourself and also so full of shit?

  • Comment removed

  • yes they do

  • @bblishot Well those guys live like Sardines no matter which time of the day.

  • @bblishot: Hey dipshit, this stuff that you want takes YEARS to implement and costs MONEY! Know how to do it that fast? Please share with us.

  • Comment removed

  • @Neville6000 do you work for TTC? if not, you really NEED apply. I think your enthusiasm will work wonders on improving the Subway service in Toronto LOL

  • @bblishot: No, I don't work for the TTC, but I am tired of morons like you talking about it as if you were experts-you're not, so please don't act as if you are, and stop talking bullshit about the TTC as well. And I still want an answer fro my question about what the MTR had over the TTC in 1974 that was so good.

  • @bblishot: Pray tell, what did the MTR have back in 1974 that was so advanced?

  • @bblishot Keep your hands off my damn tokens.

  • @bblishot hong kong probably has cheap made in china subway cars

  • @bblishot There are barely any trains (above and below ground) with stainless steel benches for seats in Japan. Nearly all of them are cushioned just like the TTC has.

  • nvm

  • is this a Bombardier

  • yes

  • yes

  • they look like the old ones

  • they are based off of the old T1 subway cars

  • uhmm ya ttc, wut u need to be focusing on is new fancy subways when the fares are rediculous and service on the surface routes is shit. way to manage ur funds, ttc.

  • @BettyBoopBoots: And, you need to learn how to spell better, so that you don't look like the immature bitch you probably are.

  • that is a 2009 tyrain why does it say 2008 i never saw it come out yet

  • I wouldn't take the whole "rocket concept" seriously, becuase Bombardeir has used designed based on European subway train designs, so what is really happening is a Europen design being incorporated into Toronto's system.

  • we hate the subways we have now

  • are you from toronto??? Im am

  • Yes, i'm living in toronto

  • when are they going to come out???

  • next year.

  • oo damn....i love the new subway train\ they better be making this sometime soon!! cuz i wanna sit in it lol:P

  • The curved poles are a very good idea!

  • sexy! finally can move between without having to run out and back in.

  • looks gr8

  • A very interesting futuristic look to the new subway design. It really does look almost like a spaceship or a rocket, which I guess makes sense, since its TTC.

  • you will have to wait to see what yaer that train will realy come out

  • Thats the most immature comment ever.

  • Definitely not fake, although there were about 5 different styles under review at the time of the original posting. Subsequently the contract has gone to Bombardier for the construction and delivery of the new cars.

  • cool

  • i think this is fake, i saw on the newspaper that it's coming out in 2013...

  • Haha, nice porno music.

  • is the new train called the t2 or something completely different?

  • I don't know, but it's being given a promotional name.

These will be known as the "Toronto Rocket" cars. Gee...how uncreative. o_o

  • Wonderful. I'm sick of the whole rocket analogy. If there is anything less rocket-like in the world it is transit in Toronto

  • They are called the Movia T35A08's: they suck

  • @giantwarwock the new trains are MOVIA

  • i think that they should get rid of those new bloody buses!! (the low floor ones with like 5 seats). they are GOD AWFUL and i don't care if they save the enviroment. you try riding one of those in the middle of a snow storm during rush hour!!!

  • I think it's about time. I've always disliked the compartmentalized cabins. A walk-through one will make things so much better.

  • Hm id think with all the ppl riding the TTC they would have. Good to know, thanks

  • its about dammn time they improved those shitty trains...TTC has a shitload of money yet the stations look like crap, the busses r crap, the trains r crap the streetcars are crap..everything they have is just shit. With all the money they have, they should be ashamed. I thought VIVA was reasonable with a fare of only 2.25 in 2005, which now is 2.75!!! Give me a break

  • They don't have a shitload of money. They face a shortfall every year, because the Mike Harris government downloaded transit-funding responsibilities down to the municipal governments in the 90s.

I wouldnt be surprised if our fares rise to $3 by 2008 or something.

  • Considering it's $2.75 already.. It might be more than $3 a ride

  • man don't scare us with the hi fare!

  • TTC has their priorities all wrong. Has anyone been to Kennedy Station? Its a bloody landfill. The ceiling tiles on the roofs are falling apart and the SRT is a complete joke.

  • I think that is largely due to the fact that they ignore needed repairs in low income areas. Do you think you will see a degradation of stations in areas like Foresthill? There are many areas that the TTC should concentrate changes on, but instead we get useless subway extensions to serve the Bayview village area. Go where the money is, I am afraid, is their policy.

  • OMG. Guess wat train they are goin to take out for this new train delivery. THE HIGHLY FAVORED H5s!!!! OMFG!! THAT REALLT PISSES ME OFF. THOSE TRAINS IS THE BEST THING EVER WHICH EVER HAPPENED TO THE TTC!!

  • i dunno bout the new ones, gonna make it harder to pre drink

  • blame David Miller

  • I don't feel that this is Miller's fault. This is a problem that began several years ago, before his time. However, I hope he can come through with some much needed changes. It is one of the most significant issues facing this city right now.

  • I'm from Melbourne Australia and have been living in Toronto for 3 months now and I can't explain how behind Toronto seems with public transport ticketing, train comfort, technology..everything.

  • You have no idea ho emphatically I agree with you. For a World Class city, in a developed nation, Toronto has one of the worst transit systems. Two major subway lines is not a system! The entire city has to be serviced by buses. That is absurd. What this city needs is more funding committed by every level of government.

  • (Damn 500 character limit!) Or if the government continues the current level of non-involvement then sell the damn thing: commercialise the entire enterprise until there are a) more lines servicing the GTA and b) the cost of a fare is drastically reduced. $2.75 to ride the bus. Give me a break!

  • How do you rationalise that. It is the number one multicultural city in the world; is the business centre of Canada; the cinema capital of Canada and Hollywood's preferred spot to shoot films; has a successful tourist industry, food industry, art community et cetera. The only thing bringing it down is the transit system.

  • actually I've heard it classified as a beta world class city, just like L.A. and Chicago, whereas New York is true world class with a damn fine transit. Toronto's isn't bad, but then thats the largest city I've been to

  • Less seats maybe but more room for those bloody Yonge and Bloor lines when you get crammed in like Sardines lol

  • looks nice

but it seems like there are less seats.

  • The inside looks the same as before.. I don't get it.

  • The colour scheme may be the same, however take a closer look and you will see some significant differences. The cars are no longer isolated from each-other and there are improvements to stop notification. Click on the link included in the description of the clip to read more about the improvements being made.
