please stop zooming, you live by a very unique railroad and have some interesting trains in your videos, but i'd love to watch them without getting horribly seasick in the process. thanks.
That's definitely a Safetran mechanical crossing bell. I know this because most of the railroad crossings in my area use those bells, but the crossings typically have two of the bells each, and also have gates.
That first car made me remember something... MCER in the 80s acctualy had borrowed a small conrail switcher... then the l8 90's they had a Santa Fe for a Train run from Ware to Barre or Ware to Palmer to Berre and back to Ware i know the man who oranized it... he tried hi best to keep the santa fe painted in its original paint but he lost.. they painted it into MCER pain =\
The sign is warning motorist that they are on a rual side street and that there are children outside playing and my run out onto the street after a loose ball or something.
This street only gets 250 daily cars over this crossing, if it got 10,000 daily cars, then we should hope for some gates! Thank you very very much for your comment!
Well,... you have to go over the crossing to see why they have a stop signs, if you look to the north, you cant see the train coming un less you stop on the crossing! and its the same thing looking south!. But i do get your point! BTW, i sat in a chair by the crossing, and 2 cars stopped out of 150 did not! and the police stopped 9 cars for not stopping at that crossing!
@weatherdan882002 "so what's the point of the stop signs when there are actual signals"? In most developed states/cities, if you don't have crossing arms that come down, you have stop signs regardless of the signal lights. Very, very rural areas may only have crossbucks with no signal lights or stop sign but that's pretty rare these days.
@myskater571 Thats not a GP20...

Rural places don't get gates, some rural crossings in Canada don't even have lights and bells, just a sign.
thesavagebastard 4 years ago
how come they dont have the lowering gates?

@skyman2002 so what's the point of the stop signs when there are actual signals now to warn now?
weatherdan882002 1 year ago
@weatherdan882002 I Guess The Only Thing I Can say Is, It Slows People Down Who Are Coming Off The Main Road At 60 + MPH.
