  • wow beautiful jackie

  • I like the take better with Scottys intro over the whistling intro.... both classics though, put me in the mood to do a version myself now, off to get my guitar!

  • desde o inicio sempre fooi o melhor...

  • What a voice! What a talent!

Beyond their powers of todays young singers.

    TCB. Jan.

  • Excellent 10 Stars

  • What an oldie.

Love the mournful sound and Elvis's speaking voice....he sounds so young.

  • Love this song a lot. Something different.

And as expected the presentation is excellent!

  • Absolutely perfect job as always Jackie, 10 Stars. I've always liked this song immensely. Elvis had a voice like no other. Elvis will definitely always be the one and only King of music and entertainment. Elvis is totally irreplaceable and truly a one of a kind.

  • RCA released a single of the song in September 1956 using a splice of takes #3 and #5; that master was released on the Elvis Presley LP. This video is the complete take 2 and complete take 3. Takes 1 and 4 are only false starts. I didnt have room for the complete take 5, and I may put it up at a later date. These are available on Master and Sessions: Sun Recording Sessions, and the Sun Sessions CD.

  • Written by Leon Payne. Elvis recorded it during his first commercial recording session at Sun Records on July 5, 1954, along with Scotty Moore and Bill Black, and his own guitar. Apparently five takes were taped by Sam Phillips, but none were released commercially.
