That video was great... I can relate to this. I was a huge anime fan back in the day - I watched DBZ as well, everything, all those famous names, read comic books and all... and it´s like all of this doesn´t get to me anymore. I find it dull and boring for the most part. Other than some of Ligotti stuff - I´m kinda running out of material to escape... but maybe I don´t want to escape anymore... so that´s good stuff... thanks for making the vide, really thanks.
Can I tell you a true story? My cousin had a deformity, one leg was longer than the other, and on top of it, she had flat feet. So you could always see her wobble. One day, in church, people were getting healed, and she wondered was it real? Suddenly, she began to cry in her seat. The pastor brought her up to the front. Her took her shoes off and started to pray for her. And suddenly, my cousins leg began to grow. She could feel it growing. And when she stopped crying, she saw her legs were...
Others' pain is just that, theirs; while someone may seem in agony we must remember we are watching their spectacle which, via sharing, likely gets amplified. Pain may not nearly be so strangling for others as our memory of watching and participating in it is for us. That is what we can control, or at least be aware of, gain some understanding of, and handle on our own ground: our participation.
Asking myself what I really want to do, or need to do, almost always provides a reasonable answer.
I know this seems weird but you should try watching baby show movies. They are more easy going and if someone cries they get helped by a friend. These shows are meant to come kids but can come anyone. Try watching My Little Ponys Friendship is Magic and Arthur. These characters in these shows grow and develope and u feel happy for them. just try it
This is a very serious topic, not silly at all... It is you that chooses what movies you watch... It is you who interprets the meaning of the art, life & all around you. Your room is whatever colour you CHOSE to paint it :)
@ForeverWolfFilms G'day... You watched Horror Movies as a kid ? Wow ! I just had real guns & knives..; and strangely, a bit of killing animals as a kid makes a big heap of Hollywood look silly, forever after..! I have a big collection of Anti-War War Movies, in reaction to having been brought up a Flag-Waving Patriot. Sci-Fi can be good mind-candy, most particularly the Dud Of The Week genre. And, Flying Movies, to Spot the Mistakes. And, I'm a Shute-ist. Nevil Shute. Author.

and so many people out there that do get a kick out of such movies cash in on the misery of the people and yet they have no clue that this is a reality for so many.
I used to watch horror when I was young because my friends liked it... but I always found it tedious because of what you say, except for the really good exceptions.
I feel the same. When the situation gets awkward for the people involved, I just have to switch off. Ironically, the more unbelievable the film, the more I'm able to watch it. Iron Man, etc. Oddly enough the cartoon films are easier. Incredibles, Megamind, Despicable Me, etc. Some, like AI, were difficult to watch but I felt were worth working through. Having a window on to what looks like real pain, where you have no power to make a difference; can be heart breaking rather than entertaining.
I agree..good rant..people are stuck remaking old better movies and ruining them. others are about whats trending at the moment..its quite pathetic really. and not to mention that some the newer ones are foreign movies that came out the year before and remade the next following year. WTF is up with that ..but i agree with ya ..sorry for my mini rant..
@tookitfarandleftitbe Yeah I hate the whole remake thing to... Pisses me off a lot actually, even when one is pretty good, it drives me crazy how many are just plain shit. Anyway thanks for watching! : D
