I don't understand what the use of the "chain" chain in this example?
I've done pretty much the same thing without it: Put the(an) instrument into chain #1 and seven ext. inst. devices into another chains. 8 pads = 8 chains. Isn't it?
Excuse my ignorance, but what's the purpose of that "Chain" slot you have set to 0 dB? Also, shouldn't the second "MIDI To" slot be set to the corresponding channel if I wanted to play each of the sounds with my Midi keyboard?
I'm glad that this drum rack is very helpfull. If I would know I would post it sooner :) I'm using uTonic this way since drum racks got introduced in Live 7 :)
@arkx1x Indeed. I am amazed there are still new things to discover about Ableton Live after all this time spent with it. I would probably not have thought of this myself, so big kudos to the clever users on the Ableton forum. I am thinking of adding this drum rack to the MicroTonic installer.
@malstrom72 That would be a great idea, might I also add that the MicroTonic update is brilliant many thanks for that I've received positive feedback on the songs I've used it in both in the previous version and now.
FINALLY I can handle drum synthesis and sample sequencing in just one environment.
Definitely going to buy µTonic now, always loved the workflow.
Very cool to switch presets with your existing midi pattern.
Rules any other related product for me.
