You're using a Hifonics BRZ1200.1 @ 1 ohm? That sub's rated at 600w RMS and you're doubling it's power..it looks like it should be moving a lot more than that.

Cause if it did 1000 watts and you tried to use something as small as 8 gauge wire, you'd be lucky to not light Ur car on fire. Dont waste Ur time n money. 1000 true watts needs at least 4 gauge. Just put one of this in my 4runner hooked up too a 1000w sony xplod amp with Sony xplod head unit and kenwood component speakers. All I can say is wow!! Just the sound I was looking for. Hits hard as hell!! But not setting off car alarm loud, would recommend too anyone!! Just got one cuz I do too much camping to have 2 of em. One is all u need!!

@canovi88 stock radio wont have rcas, when i had it on the stock radio i used a line out converter (cost about $20 ) and then you hook rcas from amp to that and then the line out converter to your rear speakers..

@flavp5 Well the gain isnt a volume. Its to much voltage from the head unit RCA's. If you have 2 volt preout then its safe to turn it to 3 oclock without any clipping.

@Ericsson787 i personally have 2 12" type r's with an mrp-m1000, it sounds amazing, except the amp heats up fairly quickly at high volumes becauase its designed for one sub not 2, although if you were to use a pdx 1.1000 (which im upgrading to) itll pound a LOT harder than any type x considering the type r is the louder out of the 2 subs. hope this helps with your decision

2 r with 1000. The peak of a type r is only 1500. You have a chance of blowing your sub if you feed 1500 to it. The RMS for the type r is 500 so if you feed 500 to each, it's really stable. If possible, get the 1500w amp to 2 type r
